Got an 8v71 blower that's been modified to be suitable for petrol and its ready to bolt on. This is the same internals as the Weiand 448cid/rev 8-71 blower. This was originally from a 1989 GM Detroit diesel and they have to have a few modifications done to make them suitable for use on higher revving petrol engines.
There is absolutely no scoring to the bores or the rotors - see photos.
All been bead blasted and clear coated to keep it clean
The V series blowers use a different mount style to the 6-71 and 8-71 blowers, but it's simple enough to make a 1/2" thick aluminium adapter plate to fit them to a standard 6-71 or 8-71 inlet manifold. All other parts interchange (snouts etc.)
The following work has been carried out:
Sealed high speed bearings fitted to rear
High speed double row bearings fitted to front
New PTFE/Teflon double lip shaft seals and shaft savers front and rear
Rotors machined for extra clearance on length to allow for expansion from the extra heat with higher rpm
Rotor phasing set and clearances checked
Rotor drive shafts triple pinned to rotors with hardened dowels
So its all ready to go, comes with front cover and gasket. Sealed up to keep it clean.
£850 ono
Collection preferred from near Wisbech but I could arrange courier if necessary.
