Car Details:I run my brother's (Martin Savill at Rare Performance Motors) website for him and he looks after a number of classic muscle cars for a well known collector in the UK. He also looks after a number of classic Camaros for his customers.
Location:Farnham, Surrey
Going through our old VHS tapes the other day we found a video of the Birkett Trophy at Snetterton in which Martin Savill was competing in Rare Performance Motor's Super Bee - Tim Boles (AKA "Topcat" on here, the Classic Camaro Club secretary, who funds & runs this place for us) was also competing as part of the HARA team, but he was having one of those days! This clip we posted on YouTube http://youtu.be/GFVwhozTftc shows Tim having what he called "a little excitement" in the pits. No-one was hurt fortunately but my brother found his visibility rather limited by fire extinguisher foam when he was hurriedly rushed out for his session on the track.

Car Details:1969 SS, originally a 396, now a 350. Never having raced an American V8 before, I am not the world's expert on Camaros ! But I read Road & Track and HotRod Magazine from the early Sixties (yes, it's the only thing I can rememberabout the 60s) and always wanted one.

Also race a 1965 Alfa GTA, and drive a 1938 Lancia Aprilia and a 1922 Talbot 8.
Mozz,
Great footage ! I'd never seen/heard the Superbee on the move before, looks & sounds wonderful.

More ! more !

Yes I remember having one of those days then! Certainly brings it all back!

Butch's gearbox had given up - and John Harrison (guy in stetson) lent me his Cougar in the enduro

They discovered dirt in the carb - blocking the jets and since it had no air cleaner it caught fire on the headers as car was still warm!

I learnt a number of things that day:
1 never run without an air cleaner
2 there is a good reason for fireproof racekit!

certainly brings back the memories- have imbedded!

I should add that that Martin fixed up my Camaros to be the wonderwagons they remain today
