Well, I`m just back from a brilliant road trip to West France. Just shy of 1700 miles I racked up in the good Chevy without a single hitch. Not even roasting hot weather and traffic jams fazed it and I`ve never been so impressed with a car as much in my puff as this thing. Brilliant machine and an absolute pleasure to sit my skinny arse in. Stranraer in SW Scotland to Berwick Upon Tweed. From there down the east coast to Hull. Ferry Hull Zeebrugge. Zeebrugge to Calais. Calais to Rouen. Rouen to Le Mans and then onto Nantes then arrived at Saint Nazaire. Drove up and down the coast. Its fair to say the local don`t see many Camaros as the car got a fair bit of attention.
For anyone thats curious. 1700 miles driving cost £350 in fuel. Not bad.Not bad at all. As you can see in my dash pic. 6th gear at 80mph and she`s ticking over.

Outside a wee cafe. I was tempted to have a beer but the French drink drive laws are strict :?

Took the car back to the hotel and gave in

I let some ugly ba$tard have a seat in my car.

Nice one. Always fancied doing a European trip in the Camaro but I think my first road trip will be riding my bike in Europe next year.

Thats good fuel economy too.

Excellent work... Pleased you had a great time, and that the car behaved/impressed you
They really do like the yank cars in Europe, particularly France we're they are very rare.

Did you get a chance to get much speed up or silly driving in, or was it more of a lesuirely cruise ?

Dunc I`ve just worked out the mpg. Its just a ballhair under 30mpg for the complete journey. To be honest most of the trip was between 70-80mph on relatively empty motorways. The tolls must put people off but I don`t mind paying 40 Euro for great roads and no traffic jams. Just my one Satnav blunder got me detoured into a city centre.

Stu, the driving was mostly cruising speed. Dont get me wrong the car saw 3 figures a couple of times but in 6th its still hardly working.
I will admit though on the return leg near home I did give it a bit of beans but in Britains potholed uneven roads I felt like Wile E Coyote hanging on to an ACME rocket  ....and then ran out of bottle :shh:

Great fun though.

The difference of badly maintained UK roads and rubbish lane discipline is so obvious when you come back from Europe..
