It's the 90th anniversary of Le Mans this year, so quite an important one. I don't follow it with huge obsession, but I did go in 2009, so I now have a bit more of an interest.

Race starts today at 3pm today and runs for guess how long..... 24 hours.. !! and I think it's being shown live on Eurosports, so you lucky people with it can watch it live. here are a few websites streaming it, i think Audi have car and pit cam live on their site.

It's an amazing event, and I was really thinking of attending this year, but work etc gets in the way. I'm planning on definately going next year, as it's such a brilliant road trip and event to be at, regardless of the actual race, from the trip down through France, to the madness at the campsites, the parades, the meeting and seeing some of the amazing cars people take. Anyone interested let me know as I've already got a small gang together of car nuts.

Definitely recommend Le Mans to everybody
Went a few years back in a mates SVO Mustang , we met up with a friend from London in a highly modified two door sierra Cosworth with a 4x4 floor pan and took a spirited  !!!! drive over...
We had a brake caliper lock up on the mustang (Insert laughter from the :chevy: fans) after a very high speed stop in to a roundabout - Thank god for a large bottle of Evian and a bigger hammer.

Camped in the middle of the circuit, loads of beer , lots of noise and a fantastic time.

The drive there and back definitely makes it worth while.
Just keep a beady eye out for the local gendarmerie :shh:

Hopefully I will have something nice and useable on the road next year and may well be up for a trip over

Si

I went in Camilla many years ago - was pretty spoilt as guests of Moet

Never forget Derek Bell driving home afterwards with his GF in a 944 Turbo - having competed his stint in the race! I would have thought that was the time to be a passenger

Got stopped for speeding prior to race around Porsche Curves by local gendarmerie

Offered them my Cyprus driving licence - at which point they gave up and waved us away!!
