Hi chaps

I'm Chris and I've very recently taken on a new project in the form of a 1996 Z28 Camaro. I've always wanted to own a decent V8, and I've always wanted an earlier Camaro but was never going to turn down a 4th generation.
The car is mostly good condition but the previous owner managed to spin it off the road so there is quite a bit of body damage. So if there happens to be anyone out there selling bumpers or body parts then give me a shout. Or anyone with advice about shipping parts from the states, I could use some tips.

With regards to technical info, please bare with me. I'm an engineer but not automotive. I have built my own kit car, done all the work on my previous cars and I know most of what I need to, but this is my first American motor, it could be interesting.

Hi Chris,

Welcome to the club and congrats on getting your first Camaro! I'm sure you'll do just fine having built your own kit car before. There's plenty of help on the forum if of course you get stick with something. We like pics here, would be great to see the good and bad  As we have limited server space we try and encourage people to use a photsharing service such as photobucket to store pics and share the links when posting.

Regaridng parts from the states, there are a few options. Check out our suppliers page as you might find someone in the UK that can help, and feel free to post in the wanted section. Failing the NPD (National Parts Depot) www.npdlink.com are really great at gettin parts over here. Ask for JT and let him know you're from the Classic Camaro Club. I've ordered stuff from there on a Monday and it was here on Friday morning! JT is based in the Florida location which helps shipping times. To put that into perspective, i ordered some stuff on Sunday from the UK, and it still hasn't got here :problem:

Cheers!

Ray

How to post pics: When writing a message, scroll down and use the "attach file" option. Where possible, a photo sharing service can be used such as Flickr, Imgur etc. The image location (usually ending in .jpg) can be copy and pasted between the ][ brackets that appear when you click the 'Img' button (you can find this button at the top of the message box).

How to post youtube vids: Click on the 'youtubeHD' button at the top of the message box and in the middle of the ][ brackets that just appeared, copy and paste everything from the youtube web address that appears after the = sign i.e if this is the url: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2cNqaPSHv0 just copy "K2cNqaPSHv0").
