Are you trying to say it's snowed or something Russ?? The snow's still with us too, but the roads are pretty clear. I'm in the middle of flatting down the Volvo guitar ready to cut it back, whilst watching "biker build off". That's the good thing about painting small items, you can take them into the warm living room to work on them

cheers...Nige

Morning all....

Just curious if anyone uses winter or snow tyres. I have to use snow tyres on the Transit out here or i physically wouldn't be sble to get anywhere. Back in the UK I have a spare set of wheels for the BMW I have winter rubber fitted after getting stuck the previous year. ..

I put a set of snow & mud tyres on the wifes Corsa & found that it really goes make a difference. When the Spring comes, we'll swap the standard radials back on again

cheers...Nige

Mud and snow tyres are probably plenty in the uk, but proper snow tyres are amazing

Spent 20 minutes getting snow and ice off the car this morning :)

I don't have snow tires / winter tyres - i heard (could be rumour) that they don'y make difference, if anything actually make it worse when the roads are free of snow /ice i.e worse braking distance, lower MPG etc. No experience myself, wonder if anyone has any info around it?

How to post pics: When writing a message, scroll down and use the "attach file" option. Where possible, a photo sharing service can be used such as Flickr, Imgur etc. The image location (usually ending in .jpg) can be copy and pasted between the ][ brackets that appear when you click the 'Img' button (you can find this button at the top of the message box).

How to post youtube vids: Click on the 'youtubeHD' button at the top of the message box and in the middle of the ][ brackets that just appeared, copy and paste everything from the youtube web address that appears after the = sign i.e if this is the url: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2cNqaPSHv0 just copy "K2cNqaPSHv0").

Hi all
I have Winter tyres on my Mini, they have been on for the last 15 months with no problems.
Got fed up waiting for Summer last year so never swapped them back. As a matter of fact
the ride is a lot better than the Run Flats on the bigger wheels (more flex in the side walls)
Anyway I was sceptical, but after this weekend I am a believer, in fact I was searching out
Hills just to test them. Worked everytime.

Cheers Roger

Can also confirm they really work. Summer use apparently wears a little quicker due to softer compound, but they definitely don't grip as well as quality summer tyres in the dry. .
