Straskyknight said that he was gonna ask Tim Boles about what he wanted to do with the club & forum now. What are your thoughts on this, what would you like from a Camaro club/forum?? Personally I think it's long overdue for Camaro owners to chat with like minded people that have a common interest in the Camaro. It'd be good if there was more activity here like on the MOC, MMA & POC club web sites. Help & ideas can be shared, those parts stored in the corners of your garage can be offered for sale to people that are likely to have a use for them, but more importantly a feeling of camaraderie between like minded enthusiasts whose common interest is the Camaro. ;) Cheers.....Nige

Well, first of all we should have regional representation. Start of with perhaps only 4 or 5 regions (Scotland, North, Midlands, West & Wales and South & East) and get at least 1 meetup going quarterly. You can increase frequency as number or desire dictate.

There should also be 1 national meetup per year where we all get together for some grub, a chat and some photos.

Everyone should be showing where they are from in their profile. With this in mind it might help to encourage people to get together to help those who are living nearby. I'm in Munich by the way so if anyone fancies a cuppa at my place, it's down to Dover, onto the Ferry and straight on at the motorway for a very long time.

Mechanically minded members could have a spanner icon in the signature to denote that they are an authority on technical stuff. The forum admins would have to determine this.

Newsletter are largely a waste of effort in my opinion. The only real benefit being that you get a piece of paper with a few Camaro friendly garages, parts suppliers etc.

No need to re-invent the wheel here, just copy the good things that other successful clubs do.

What used to go down well in other clubs I've belonged to is a trip to a motor museum (Beaulieu for example) once a year. You could also choose be the American theme park place or something like that. What's nice is to be able to bring the family along too.

POC have a BBQ this weekend at their founders premises, any chance of that happening here I wonder ?

My main interest would be for information sharing.

My '79 is my daily transport and my hobby. I'm always on the lookout for more information about it, how things work, how to tackle specific jobs etc, and I'm more than happy to share my knowlege and time too.

I'd probably be up for the occasional meet too.

I also think it would make sense to include all F-body models.

Hi everyone

I am now back

I had to go to Andorra earlier this month to give a speech!

The club is yours ie for the Members. I am sorry if I am an infrequent visitor to these pages - it is just that I have a lot on my plate, so I am sorry If I cannot address every request for information/experience.

The good news is that we have been awarded an entry in the Pageant of Power 17-19 July simply because I have persuaded Sarel to do the driving! He is a properly famous racing driver- as you will have seen.

Looking forward to seeing what Steve (webmaster) and your ideas culminate in.
I have long found that clubs tend to be dominated by the few- and quite often we have, as previous iterations of CCCUK, been let down by the gap between promises (of attendance at Charity shows for e.g) and reality.

So my feeling is that this is much more of a "self service" club, Members get out of it what they and their friends put in and that we flock together with other kindred spirits in the Am Car world.
regards
Top Cat
