Just fitted some new parts to the wee beastie in my aim for more grip and better stopping..
Starting with these bits - custom hub, caliper brackets and custom brake hoses from Custom Works
nice big calipers from a crashed 2002 corvette
fully adjustable upper A arms with solid bushings from SPC
The old upper arms, spindle and and brake assembly was removed. Another set of spindles had previously been purchased and modified (cut down, redrilled and tapped) to accept the brackets.
the new upper arms were fitted with tall Howe ball joints for improved suspension geometry. These new arms can give huge advantages over the stock part as they offer almost unlimted castor and camber adjustment without shims.
The new hubs and spindle and brackets were assembled with new bearings and fitted.
New EBC 13" vette discs were fitted with the calipers, EBC yelloowstuff pads and the new hoses.
new brakes fitted.
The system is massively better than stock with 13" x1.25" rotors over the tiny 10.9" standard brakes.
The upper arms are excellent too, I've already got +3 degrees castor and -1.5 degrees camber, impossible with standard arms. I look forward to testing it all on tuesday..
