Matt'
I am currently putting togeather a 1995 350 block so alot of this is familiar to me as i too bought it up cause of the cost,
so here are some options:
1.swap heads from your 86 v8 yes it requires gaskets and ensuring the heads are in useable condition but here is an option that you have the parts for. you must also make sure of your valvetrain being the same in both engines (roller vs flat tappet).
2.I have seen aftermarket manifold that had the center bolt holes drilled to accept both engines, so the holes are in the same location, just the angle is different. a good machine shop should be able to angle holes and make seats for bolts to
apply equal pressure in a downwards direction equally.
3.you can get a carbed manifold but i always found an easy way to calculate cost was to just what ever it cost in dollars
straight to pounds and then add shipping. (crude but gives an idea) my carbed manifold cost 150 dollars. you also lose the tpi.and now the cost of the carb!
good luck in what ever direction you choose !
regards
Dave
