We all have a different take on thing I know so here's my two peneth :)

Did my Kick panel's, Dash pad and pillar covers in Black Vinyl The first 2 were done for me with a 1/4 inch foam behind because the pad was cracked, and some stitching was involved, may use leather next time :) of coarse it doesn't look standard like your's but It won't chip like some of the interior's I've painted but may be this paint is better and stick to the plastic better?

When I do my seat's I use Cable ties I find them easier too tread through the frame and Hessian then the rubber then through the seat cover were it pulls down on the first bit which sit in the groves in the rubber, leave them loose at this stage, pull the outer edges too where they should be on the frame working your way around slowly tightening them to get things in the right place with out creases then pull the middle ties tight to get the base and seat back looking like they should.

And if you get it wrong just cut and start again.

Here's one I made earlier :)

Well, the jury is out on the Liquid Plastic as such regarding the application to the metalwork. It may well chip, it wasn't designed in mind with adhering to metal. However the pseudo like leather pattern on the metal trim is some type of plastic or vinyl, the paint stripper told me as much ;) Maybe the Liquid Plastic will soak in...maybe not.

It certainly works well on the vinyl sun visors. I pressed a piece of masking tape on to one of them with force, then ripped it off, no paint on the tape and no marking on the visor.

Thanks for the tip with the seat covers :) It did cross my mind that cable ties may be the better way to go initially. Far more scope for adjustment and making sure of no creases, as you mentioned.

First shipment of parts arrived earlier this week :)

From Lares via Rockauto, the essential steering coupler. The ridiculous steering fault was traced to this part being incredibly worn, no more telepathy required when cornering!!

Not at all happy to discover identical parts :thumbdown: :cry:

Phoned Eckler's immediately, thankfully a righthanded piece will be sent to the exporter I use in Florida, free of charge. Ok, so I'll have to pay the duty once again and carriage across the Atlantic but I'll make the money back via eBay :) Satisfactory customer service I thought :thumbup:

I didn't fancy replacing the dashboard, although ideally it would produce the best result. Instead I went with a dash cap, courtesy of Coverlay in USA. According to Nasty Z28 it was supposed to be a very good alternative...

...but once fitted you can clearly see this cap doesn't fit as well as it ought to. It's not that the moulding is bad, it's simply that the cap doesn't cover the dash as I imagined it would. Apparently for the likes of a '77 car or earlier there's no problem due the design of the dashboard, sadly the same can't be said for the later Camaro's.
