Just dug out a pic of my old driver side door, pretty rotten eh ?

So where did you "seal" the leak ?

Been busy and didn't have time to reply, sorry.

Weather's been good/dry and I've been out and about using the car and having fun.

Yup I meant door mirror where the black triangular piece is there's weather stripping that goes all along the door, that piece in particular was split along it's length, I've used some black sealant as a running repair, we've some bad weather due over the next few days so I can properly check if that's where the problem was, but as I said after I did the sealant it rained and the carpet was dry, now I need it to pi.....pour down to check. Not sure how or why but fingers crossed it has solved the problem.

Then I need to find out why the seatbelt light stays on and what the funny hot smell coming from the front drivers side wheel is!

"and what the funny hot smell coming from the front drivers side wheel is!"

The exhaust runs down the back of the engine and then side ways, towards the passenger side wheel and then turns 90 degrees back towards the back of the car - the 90 degree bend is right by the inner wheel arch, so maybe something has fallen in? On mine, the plastic studs holding the inner wheel arch had loosened, and the plastic inner wheel arch was resting on the exhaust. Luckily it holds up to a good temp but a bit smokey none the less.

The smell is on the drivers side and does whiff a little like hot brakes, when I put my hand near the wheel it did feel a little "warm", the passenger side was fine. I've got to nip out next week so we shall see what we shall see LOL

Apologies, I had a full on dyslexic moment there! Maybe a sticky slide pin on the caliper causing some rubbing of one of the brake pads? Or perhaps the wheel bearing going a bit dry? Are you able to check the brake pad thickness on each side of the rotor?

Okay, it's been pelting down for almost 2 days solid, just checked and the carpet is dry. No idea how it's gone from the weather stripping down to by the pedals but for some weird reason putting sealant as a running repair along it has worked!
