Looking tidy!

Ive got some black salad shooter style wheels that would complement you white paintwork if your interested in returning the wheels to the original spec? Wouldn't want much for them.
Cheers mate.

Thanks for the offer, it's not my call as it's not my car, but I think he's quite happy with the current wheels.

I`ll tell you what. Some improvement there fella.

And another thing. White isn`t that bad when it cleaned up. Pretty neat actually. I agree, the wheels on it look good and in good order too. How does it run? With 30k miles it should be good. Its true what another poster said, sitting about doesn`t really do any car any favours. In saying that, if its inside and dry then that`s a huge bonus. Whats left to do asides the roof?

The engine runs spot on, didn't miss a beat at all last year when I had it, though I found it a little sluggish compared to my own car! (307bhp Audi S4 Avant).

I need to do the more mechanical work on it still. It needs a good service, coolant and brake fluid changes, also there is an ABS light which doesn't go off. I can see the diagnostics of this being a particular ball ache because it being an LT1 lump right on the changeover year so could be OBD1 or OBD2.

I need to get the wheels off and check things like suspension bushes to see of they have perished. I might try and get the underneath waxoiled too.

The tyres could really do with replacing as they are cracked, but it almost seems a waste with the amount of tread left on them. The wheels aren't in horrendous nick, but the paint is looking a bit flat on them so I might look at refurbing them too.

That's all I can remember off the top of my head. In the meantime I have the front end of my Audi to swap and get in the paint shop, break the remains of another S4 for parts and refurb a set of BBS split rims on my girlfriends TT! Busy summer ahead!

This is good way to get rid of tyre tread

You have no idea how many times this has crossed my mind! If it was my car they I'd do it without even thinking about it! But as it's not I don't think I will in case it breaks!

Well it's been a little while again, I'll be honest I've done naff all on it, though I have located the issue with the roof and why it won't close.

If you look at the diagram below, I require part #11 for both sides, as this is part of the mechanism which allows the roof panel connected to the front bow to fold back and clear the back seats. I've tried locating them but with little success. If anyone knows where I could get a pair that would be brilliant!

I've emailed a couple of parts guys here and in America, the most helpful was USAutomotive, who told me:

"#11 on the diagram was never supplied as a spare part by GM – it is part of #9 (also includes 8, 10, 68,69) described as “Link, folding top #2 bow”.

It is obsolete from GM and there are none showing on the locator services we use. It’s not showing in reproduction either."

So I must admit I'm not very hopeful about getting any, even as part of #9.

Also has anyone changed the A/C pump on an LS1 before?

Thanks

Michael
