My race sponsor has the correct analyser for the early 4th gen Z28. for reference you will have an obd2 socket but using obd 1 software, hence you neeed a specific test machine. if you can get down to Royson, Hert. the test will take approx 1 hour and cost £50

Just looking at alternatives but no one seems to agree on any particular type, solution or manufacturer! Any type i should avoid? Any recomendations?
Cheers,

So just so i get this right in my head. You needed a obd2 plug but obd1 software as your car is a 94. So mine being a 97 needs obd2 software?

Sorry for the late reply, i haven't been able to get on here for days!
Your car should be obd2. Mine is obd1 which is a less sophisticated version. The codes on the earlier cars (up to '93) could be read by putting a paper clip in two pins and watching the SES light flash!

You need a new Optispark?
I have replaced my 94 optispark. It cost £88 in delivery and taxes from the states ans took a couple of days to fit. I I have the unvented unit but modified it to stop it picking up condensation. If you want details of fitting and the modifications let me know
