I am wanting to put some bigger wheels on my 68 SS Camaro however I do NOT want to mini tub. I am looking at 19" ON THE REAR AND MAYBE STAYING WITH THE 17" on the front. They are currently SS Cragars which I do like but dont think they do a 19" in this Cragar style? Does anyone know a UK Specialist who can help and maybe assist with importing the wheels if need be? I may also look at getting a rear independent suspension package such as DSE or Hotchkis? I recently brought the car over from NZ where it has been for sometime so am a bit short on contacts for various work? If anyone can help or point me in the right direction I would be grateful. Thank you I have attached a couple pics.

Welcome to the forum & congrats on owning such a beautiful looking car. Any more details on it??

Probably the biggest importer/supplier of aftermarket wheels & tyres of all types is Northants Tyres. Here's a link to their web site :- http://www.northhantstyres.com/

Personally I think that the combination that you've got on there now suits the car just right & the tyres fill the wheelarch openings perfectly. ;) . But there again, I'm a dinosaur & don't really like large diameter wheels/tyres over 17" (gotta say that as I've got 17's on my Merc daily driver   ) If we all had the same tastes we'd all own red '69's  Cheers.........Nige

I'm sorry I dont know any wheel importers but welcome to the site anyway. I think you have the best looking Camaro I have ever seen !! Truly stunning.

(Niges' isn't finished yet so I'm not including his).

Thanks very much. Yes it does sit nicely at the moment on these wheels, its just something I think may look better with the bigger wheels on the back. The car is very low and I do struggle over the odd speed hump, I had thought of installing air suspension into the car at some point but again its not a necessity. I prefer the Cragars that are on there but if they dont do them in a 19" in that style then I may not bother, Summit racing did them but only in the other style of SS Cragar. Thanks again.

I shipped the car over from NZ last year, she had been there since 1989. Car is immaculate and had a ground up rebuild about 4 years ago, I have done a fair bit of work to her but most of it done by prior owner. She runs a 350 chev with a mega cam, trickflow aluminium heads, flowmasters, Thorley Headers, 600 Holley, Factory 4 speed Hurst manual with 12 bolt diff and 4 wheel disc brakes, thats the main stuff I suppose? Most of the look of the car has been kept original such as the radio/interior etc but it runs a seperate system in the glove box with a fully boxed amp in the boot. Ill put some more photos up. You know what its like theres always something else you want to do the car!

Welcome to the site :D
Superb looking car, saw it at the Nationals at Ipswich last year, couldnt miss the number plate
Personally wouldnt fit 19" rims as i think youve got the look and stance spot on.
Looking to get 17" rims for my 68 and think North Hants poss the best choice esp the new Rocket Boosters or Fuel wheels.
Cheers Tim
