Yup - about double what you'd expect but believe me they make a difference. (That is for all 4 bulbs though) But if you don't go out later in the day it's a lot to pay.

One day last winter, I was caught driving home long after sundown and then you realise how poor the OME lights really are.

You could try out dips only rather than the full set to see what you think. After all, that's what you'll use most of the time. You can save on the main beam bulbs by not investing all in one go. BTW the website I checked mine on - before going to the shop had a wrong code on it, so take along an actual bulb to compare. It's the width of the pins that are an issue. The one's recommended by the web site did not fit.

PS Nice looking car you have there!

Stuart,

Can you have a look at this on ebay and tell me what you think. The description say's it's the whole set for £18.54 with free delivery. Can't be right, can it?

Gerry

The advert has ended so can't see but for info the ones I got from the big H were "Extreme Brilliance 9006EB HB4 12v 51W"

The mains were "Extreme Brilliance 9005EB HB3 12v 60W"

They are Xenon bulbs and v. good.

Benefit, let's look on the bright side, the bulbs I removed become the spares you need when you travel abroad!

Hope that helps!

Stuart

Hi Stuart,

I am not sure what is wrong with the link, it dosn't work for me either.

The info you have given seems very simular but it says the lamps are 55W. I think your ones are a lot better. There seems to be many different manufactures at as many different prices.

Try this link

if you read the government law about HID they are actually illega to fit (unless you are a boy racer ??) on vehicles without the correct lenses. I have looked into this as the beam pattern doesn't spread the same and you have black spots. often they look brighter but actually just dazzel yourself and others. Just clean the lamps up, and get some xenon bulbs and see how you get on, bright white look brighter but yellow is more friendly and the human eye adapts better to dark conditions
Gerry

Not a technical person on law relating to headlights but would refer back to the quote from MaudyZ28.

I did look at the ebay link and notice that the bulbs are all over blue, mine are not. Also they are describe as HID which I think is what Maudy is referring to.

I can't be definite then. Personally, I'm happy with the xenon from the big H, they went through an MOT a couple of weeks ago, no questions asked.

Hope that helps

Thanks for that info Stuart, I had missed the HID bit and I had seen Maudy's post before so I should have known better.

It's really good to be able to bash this stuff around with other people who have already done it. It makes the learning curve a bit easier and we are never too old to learn :)

I think this is more what you are talking about, whatever did we do before we had the www.

That's more like what mine look like, clear glass with blue tips. Got to be worth as try at that price.
