I think if you contact the DVLA you can get a list of previous owners since the car was registered. That should help find who raced it!
There were quite a few 3rd gens raced over here in the 70's. I might even have a pic of it somewhere as i've collected loads from around the net. Have you got any photos of your car you can post? It might jog somebody's memory.

How to post pics: When writing a message, scroll down and use the "attach file" option. Where possible, a photo sharing service can be used such as Flickr, Imgur etc. The image location (usually ending in .jpg) can be copy and pasted between the ][ brackets that appear when you click the 'Img' button (you can find this button at the top of the message box).

How to post youtube vids: Click on the 'youtubeHD' button at the top of the message box and in the middle of the ][ brackets that just appeared, copy and paste everything from the youtube web address that appears after the = sign i.e if this is the url: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2cNqaPSHv0 just copy "K2cNqaPSHv0").

If it really has raced in period and is a gen Z/28

you could find it is quite valuable depending upon what it did!

The problem is that most of the cars raced in period were never road registered, some have been reshelled, and some racers have made copies of their original racers, claiming that the one that ended at the "bottom of the ravine" is back in business- only with a new shell!!

Is it one of Bob's I wonder?

Well that would just prove it is a z/28

That's the easy part!

the race history is far more difficult

who do you think raced it in period--? You need to find out and get round the survivors to see if they can remember it!

The following Camaro racers are very sadly no longer with us:

Tony Lanfranchi
Richard Lloyd
James Hunt
Gerry Marshall
Brian Muir

amongst those left include:
Bob Ridgard
Roy Pierpoint
David Piper
Stuart Graham
Martin Thomas
Frank Gardner
Can't think of anyone else- apologies
