The lights in the back of the centre console and the rear pillars of my 67 are on as soon as i connect the battery and wont go off. It happened on Saturday out of the blue, the door switches on the pillars go in and out fine, is there a common thing i should look for?
Thanks all.
Russ.

I had this on my fourth gen and found it was the dimmer switch for the dash board lights if it was switched fully up it turned the interior lights on all the time. I had no idea it did this and took weeks to work out what I had done and kept removing the fuse in the interim... just a thought.

Hi Russ on your headlight switch dose it turn to the left or right if so twist it all the way (i think to the right) this should turn your interior lights off .it dose on a third gen (its so you can switch interior lights on and off manually )not sure if it dose on yours Cheers Neil

ye that should be it :)

From what i could see the 1st and 2nd gens use the same light switch mechanism. all the way to the left is off (default position), then if you twist to the right you'll feel it click and then the more you twist it the brighter the interior lights should come on. I would guess its maybe moved just past the click making it effectively off? I think that's the correct way round, been a while since any electrons have flowed around my 2nd gen :)
