Cheers guys, good ideas there!

Rocky i like the idea of matted clear, unfortunately though i'm not using clear coat on the car but i would like to see how you did yours, share some pics when you can :)

Nige, thanks for the tip, funny how 2k glosses out, but good overall characteristic as it's what you want most of the time. The plan tonight then is to hit it with p1000 to knock down the spots then lay down a few dust layers to matte it out.

Could the spots be air bubbles? i usually clean and degrease surfaces pretty thoroughly and tack cloth the surface so i don't think it could contamination?

Cheers!

Pics coming tonight :)
Any pics of the spots, or can you describe them?? Rockys plan of using matt clear would be fine also, even if you aren't using clear elsewhere. If you decide to dust it on dryly, thin the paint right down so that it lays out smooth & try a test panel first.

cheers....Nige

Heres some I found bulkhead was just shot with a satin black then matt cleared, Interior was metalic medium gold with matt clear
The more coats you do gives more gloss and also you can polish it up to a desired gloss but these pics were straight from the gun
Hope this helps

Cheers Rocky, that came our really nice! looks verrry smooth :)
I didnt want to hang around with the 2k in the air last night after finishing the paint so i'll post some pics up in a little bit and there's is definitely a difference with the 2 techniques lol.
I saw you had some tan interior kick panels ready for paint in there, what did you paint them with? standard 2k or SEM / VHT plastic paint? how did they turn out? cheers!

Kick panels were brand new in black just used a wet on wet prime and shot the medium gold and matt clear.
