Good conversations going on here and some really good points too!
So the way i read things here and some generalisations are that we want to increase traffic and keep things as they are. I think key points are:
1) This forum IS the club
a) Times have moved on and people no longer need to phsyically meet to talk about cars - we can do that from our computers, so we have a place to talk now, just need a place to see the cars
b) There should be no membership fee (more on this below)
2) Our members are few and far spread across the nation, so we should latch onto other events as there is a fear that there will be low attendance
a) From what i read, we (camaro owners) go to the same shows, but without knowing. This make me think of a couple of things:
i) we need individuality at events - i.e our own area (stand maybe too much) where we can all park and other unknown members have a place to join us. Maybe even have a banner or something printed up that can be used at all upcoming events?
ii) We use the "future events" part of this forum more effectively. (not sure how yet, will have a think)
3) Membership fee's
a) Had a think about how we can maybe do this. If we do need to raise $$$ for say site upkeep etc, then i would latch onto merchandise etc and stickers, t-shirts etc so the money comes through a percentage of items purchased. i.e business cards - say one person orders 1,000, then each member contacts that one person to buy say 100 cards at the cost price, but then say 10% is added on whcih then goes into the upkeep costs. same with t-shirts, stickers etc... add a small percentage ontop and that goes into the fund. not sure what people think of this, but it's that every little helps approach. that way, you're not forced to pay anything, but anything you do buy, will help the cause a bit.
We also seem to lack knowledge of this central person. We are getting to the bottom of this i think, but it looks like it's motorvatin and not Tim. Sorry, still not clear on this, it seems Tim is not the main go to guy anymore when things changed over which is fair enough, so it would be good to know who this person is to make contributions to, put club related questions to etc. I agree, no need for comittee and admin board etc etc, that just complicates things. Realistically we need a couple of admins (for the site) and a person who looks over the site from a function / cost side (loooking like motorvatin?). We kind of already have this i think, I have seen Nige as the administrator guy (on the forum) and Tim as the head of the club as it were, but this is obviosuly not the reality today, so would be good to know who's responsible for what i guess, to help streamline the club if we are to get bigger.
Just some thoughts i had while reading through all the comments
I'm happy to do my part and help with things, day to day running of the site / club etc, but not sure on who to speak to at this time
Good to see that we all we want to get more traction with site (and from our cars too
) so just thinking of ways to do this in a casual-formal way.

Where possible, a photo sharing service can be used such as Flickr, Imgur etc. The image location (usually ending in .jpg) can be copy and pasted between the ][ brackets that appear when you click the 'Img' button (you can find this button at the top of the message box).
