Shaun that would be great thanks :)

If they can provide an official invoice, we can then go from there and find out who we need to submit it to at CCCUK or motorvatin.

Cheers!

Ray

Hi guys, how you all keeping?? Sorry for not posting on here lately but my lifes been very hectic lately. I've had people staying with me, been on holidays & now in the middle of having my house rewired, so the electrics on & off all the time. Hopefully I can get some spare time now to catch up with things

Ok, to answer some questions, the Camaro club/forum was started by Tim Boles aka TopCat. This has nothing to do with Motorvatin at all other than being affiliated to them, I believe. I'm the moderator on here, as Tim's very busy & unfortunately only visits as & when time permits. I'm sure that I can speak on behalf of Tim & say it'd be a great idea to have cards made up to promote the club. It's great to have some other people feel the same way as Tim & I do about this place & want to see it grow & become THE place for Camaro owners. Tim was quite happy for me to promote the club by getting the club decals made & I've also suggested getting club T shirts made up in black with the white club logo on them. Oh yeah, Tim owns the rights to the club logos..

As to funding things, there isn't a committee or chairperson as such, as Tim funds the upkeep ofthis forum from his own pocket. I paid for all of the club decals to be made from my own pocket & then distributed them to those that wanted them. I'm currently still holding some money for these that will go to Tim to help towards the upkeep of this place. I've had a couple of enquiries for club decals recently, so I'm just waiting to see if they get ordered before sending the balance off to Tim.

Let me know how much the printing will come to & assuming it's not extortionate, I'll pay for that to be done myself. Or alternatively, if people feel that they want to be able to help the club by chipping in a few bob to get them done then fine.

As I said at the beginning, it's great to finally have some people that want to make this club/forum work. It's been a real hard slog trying to keep things going, especially when at one point I was the only person that seemed to post up any threads/pictures/video links etc. It seemed as if I was just talking to myself at times  . It then got to the point where there was probably around 2 or 3 of us just "chatting" to each other, trying to keep it alive. It was all very demoralising & to be honest, I felt like giving up quite a few times. Slowly more & more people have started posting & it's finally starting to take off at long last. The more help, posts, threads etc the better as far as I'm concerned, so lets get rid of that apathy & try & get this place alive.

When you consider that the MOC (Mustang Owners Club) is very active on their forum, organising track days & shows & they're only a one make car club like us, then there's no reason why, with the amount of Camaros we have in this country, we should be able to equal if not better their efforts. Spread the word people, spread the word........

Any queries just let Tim or myself know & we'll sort it out

cheers...Nige

We haven't had the T shirts done as yet as I've not had the chance to contact many suppliers to get some decent prices for buying in a small volume. As soon as I have I'll post up a thread & PM everyone asking who wants what so's we can gauge the interest & know how many we'd need. They'll be in black with the club logo on the front left "breast" with the logo as big as poss on the back. (The same logo as the decals)

cheers...Nige

Car Details:68 pontiac firebird coupe project car,my aim is a street friendly, lightly modified pro.touring style.

68 firebird convertible ( long term project) Stock resto/mod style ,400 pontiac th350
Hopefully things are starting to turn the corner ,always seems like a rocky road starting out but now with new members, more posts and summer being here which always boosts people ,things are going in the right direction.
The Club Cards could be a good starting point , if we take them to meets or even on cars we see parked up it could bring in new people who may not be aware of the club.
I've been going to a little local meet [ Harte and Magpies 2nd Tuesday of month Amersham Rd. Coleshill , Bucks Hp7 olu ] and different Camaros have turned up on different nights ,the thing is if you could get them together we could get something going but on a couple of nights it was a bit quiet and they never came back ,however now the long summer evenings are here the place is filling up and the landlord has even enlarged the carpark to cope with the demand !
Starting an online club must be an uphill task and I admire Nige for stickin with it in the lean times...Maybe its like "Field of Dreams''- If You Build It They Will Come.

T shirts are a cracker Nige, Ive noticed alot of the American car forums have a Paypal donation section on their sites but, as I've said I'd sooner pay you and Tim the money I spent joining the Motorvatin club. Also I don't mind being a area rep to get the ball rolling.

Great, so now is the time to start thinking about when we are getting together, any thoughts folks.

Nige,

I think you already know I want a T but when you have got a price no doubt you'll post and we can all order.
