one thing i noticed when it was for sale was the dash seemed like it was from a 67/68 camaro, is this correct.
Wouldn't know but seeing as you asked I went and looked for a 69 dash panel on the web and what I have is definately NOT like this
Guess you are right?

Nope, its just sitting in the workshop going nowhere and gathering dust !!
I did get an insurance quote from Flux which was £315...... !! No thanks..... Its expensive he said because of the roll cage!
Like that makes it go faster then does it......lol?

Until I get the rear quarters & roof panel beaten straight its going to be sprayed MATT BLACK........... !
I got 5 litres of NATO matt black for £45 and can't wait to get it done now ;)

That's an aftermarket dash in the pic, so yours wouldn't look like that anyway, but you do have a '67-8 dash in yours, not a '69.

I've got a roll cage in mine & declared it to Hagerty & it wasn't a problem. Try them & see what they say

cheers....Nige

Hi
Sorry been asleep and should have welcomed you earlier!

can you put up the VIN code or the cowl VIN code- just to check the age of the car chassis?

I can quickly decode it for you if you like?

VIN Code ontop of the dash is 124379N568743

Cheers Biff but I went and insured it through the NSRA members scheme for £160 in the end - unlimited mileage and any modifications you want basically. Will try and remember to give RH a ring next year :thumbup:

The Info on the cowl data plate is more revealing- may be found on the firewall in engine compartment

however from the info VIN looks like:
1= Chevrolet
2= Camaro
4= V8 engine
37= Coupe/hardtop
9= 1969 model
N= Built at Norwood
568743= Production sequence code- built between 12 December 1968 and 1 January 1969

For a full certificate including the all imporatnt Cowl data plate decode we usually charge £15 if interested
