New to the site...found it while surfing the other day and was curious to see if there were any F-body enthusiasts in the UK. I've owned about a dozen F-bodies over the years, but wound up selling them for one reason or another. My current project is a 79 Z/28. It's undergoing a frame off rebuild (not "restoration") which has been underway about 2-years now. Folks often ask what it will be when it's done. I tell them it will essentially be a street-legal (barely) race car with headlights and turn signals--"everything you need and nothing you dont". Once I figure out how to upload photos, I'll post a few. I'm in southern California and have a lot of contacts for perfomance parts as well as some hard to find OEM parts. I've seen some really nice examples of restored and performance-built Camaros in here. Nice to see that our English cousins appreciate our old muscle cars...man, I'll be rust is a BIG problem over there, huh?

File comment:Here are a few photos--my file are a bit disorganized. I wanted to spot some of what it looked like at the start.

It's helpful that Global West is in the same city where I live. Just purchased the CAT-5 leafs last week. The differential is done and will go back in next week...will update with some more photos once that's done.

Welcome to the forum!

I'm a fellow 79er and yes, we do suffer from rust here :)

We LOVE pics here, so please feel free to unload all you got. When you type a message, at the bottom there should be a box to upload pics. admittedly it doesn't call to itself as it says attach file as opposed to pic, but just choose a pic file, add it, you can do up to 5 per message.

What part of SoCal you in? I'm visiting end of the summer, would be cool to say hi!

Cheers,

Ray

How to post pics: When writing a message, scroll down and use the "attach file" option. Where possible, a photo sharing service can be used such as Flickr, Imgur etc. The image location (usually ending in .jpg) can be copy and pasted between the ][ brackets that appear when you click the 'Img' button (you can find this button at the top of the message box).

How to post youtube vids: Click on the 'youtubeHD' button at the top of the message box and in the middle of the ][ brackets that just appeared, copy and paste everything from the youtube web address that appears after the = sign i.e if this is the url: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2cNqaPSHv0 just copy "K2cNqaPSHv0").

I'm in the San Bernardino/Riverside area...about 60 miles east of LA. I work in LA County. Visiting any place in particular, or sightseeing in general? I'd be happy to meet with you when you have a chance. Hope you aren't flying into LAX. CALTRANS has been working on the 405 and it's even worse than usual. I'd go into Burbank or Ontario if you have those options.

Thanks for the reply...

Dana
