Well bu@@er me, what an adventure... !!

You could never do a trip like this on your own, covering over 2500 miles, but absolutely flying for over 1500 miles of moutain passes and the most ridiculous roads I've ever seen.
You would never stumble on these roads if driving through the Alps as we were often well off the beaten track... I'd highly recommend anyone try this at least once in their life, as I've never driven so hard on the road in my life, and had days of incredible tail-out action. The Camaro coped well, but I realised the limitations of a live rear axle on uneven roads with bends at serious speeds.

We had a few losses, 996 GT3 had collison with a kerb and snapped a suspension arm, Supercharged Honda engined Elise broke a supercharger pulley, 997 GT3 sprung a radiator leak (managed to get it replaced in northern Italy and carry on), Carrera 4 hit a bank and broke the front rad and cooler, and the DB9 split a transmission cooler pipe on the last day. My old boat was fine

The tour ran with a lead car (BMW E46 M3 with very modified brakes suspension and re-map) and set a blistering pace with a navigator calling out over 2-way radios that we all had to let the rest of the group know about oncoming cars, so basically enabling us to over take any slower traffic and fly round blind corners without issues. We had a another chase car (Ferrari 360) midway to help and a support car (S4 Avant) at the rear..

I've put some pics up below, and will link to some vids when I find em.

Alas, my Camaro's not in it, but found this, filmed by one of the guys in a Ferrari 360, just gives an idea of the roads, scenery, the pace we were doing and the radio banter..
