I received this today:
Hello,

My name is April Huang and I work for Codemasters Software Ltd in the United Kingdom. We are a computer games company that has developed several popular car racing games, such as Dirt, Dirt 2, F1 2010 and soon Dirt 3 and F1 2011. Our racing studio is currently developing a new racing game to follow the success of our former racing title Race Driver GRiD. In our new game we thought our audience of gamers would love to experience driving certain selected vehicles and a 1970 Camaro Z28 is definitely the one we would like to include in our game. In order to achieve the high quality we want, we will need some detailed photography for our artists to recreate it authentically in our game. I am wondering if you would be interested in giving us an opportunity to photograph the car in details, or could you please pass my contact details to anyone who might be interested? Thank you.

Should you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Many thanks.

With kind regards

April

I guess that doesn't matter too much, they'll want lines, shapes, to digitise. They'll colour and fill in the rest I guess? worth getting in touch for sure!

What's the latest with this? The only big racing game i'm aware of that's coming out is Forza 4 and that's around October time this year. They already have a z28 but it's a late 2nd gen body.

In fact, to take this thread on a slight turn, has anyone here played the Forza / GT style games? Specifically the ones that allow you to modify and tune your car. I used the z28 in Forza 3 as that's also a 1979 that they have in there, so it allowed me to see what effect suspension, power, drive trains etc have on the car. Being a real life simulation style game i found it cool that you can use upgrades such as Edelbrock etc and i found the figures to be in the same range as that quoted by the real life manufacturers of the items. Wonder if anyone spends their time doing this kinda stuff?

Cheers,

Ray
