Hi all

Thought i would treat you all to some pics of my Z28 and a few of my less exciting ones!

Spec:

1998 Camaro Z28
Magnaflow Cat Back exhaust
Momo Corse Steering Wheel
JBL Sub, RF amp and standard Monsoon system with Kenwood mp3/usb headunit
18" BMW M-Parallel Alloys with 255/40/18 Pirelli P-Zeros on rear and 235/40/18 Michelin Pilot Sports on front (soon to change to Michelin all round)

To come:

CAI modification, SLP lid, Austin Motorsports Ram Air, Angel eye headlights, Us mirrors, SS Hood, Eibach Pro Kit. Currently de-BMW-ing the wheels and fabricating some bowtie centre caps.

2002 Accord Type R, daily driver. Revs to 8200rpm, lightweight, lsd etc but doesnt put as big a smile on my face as the Z!

looking nice matey. Cant believe how much the camaro looks just like mine was after I'd had it a few months :D Yet yours does look lower already?? Mine had the euro springs as euro spec (like yours but it's a 99) maybe they changed them, you can see mine was on stilts :O

The wheels look AWESOME too, fill out the arches nicely. One thing you may need to watch is when lowered you will need an adjustable panhard rod to centralize the rear end, and also you may need to trim your arches as the wheels may scrub

How'd you get on with the wheel and boss, it looks really good, might have to invest in one. You get the 'merlin motorsport' boss???

I like the parallels too and knew they would look good on the camaro. I did have a look at a set but the offset from standard 5 & 7 series BMs was too low (typically 13 to 22) would mean that the tyres would catch the arches on my car with the eibach pro springs fitted (just as maudy says).

I am running E36 8 inch wide rims but the offset of 35 tucks the wheels and tyres just inside the arches (which are still unrolled)

Cheers for the comments chaps.

I liked her on the 17s but love the stance on the 18s. Perhaps mine sits a bit lower anyway Maudy? Not sure. This panhard rod, is that to control the camber? I know there are similar things available for lowered Accords.

Just need the weather to improve now so i can sort the centre caps out. Must lose the "M" stickers too...

the steering wheel boss was from Merlin, it needed a bit of bodge, in terms of a washer to keep the boss rubbing against the steering column, but its fine now. Quite a bit smaller than the original, its a nice thing to hold.

I'll update the thread when I can get her clean and in more aesthetic surroundings than the alley behind our house :>

I like the honda too BTW, I much prefer the accord to the civic. That 2.2 vtec is a real screamer. Have you done any power mods?

An adjustable panhard rod helps to centre the axle rear esp if the car has been lowered. On the eibachs, my axle was approx 20mm left of centre to the point that if I had 255 tyres on the left rear wheel it would have fouled the arch when driving over bumpy roads.

I fitted mine a couple weeks ago but ran the car without the adjustable panhard for a few months after lowering.

Wow. The actual axle doesnt sit centre?

Worrying... Where would I get this mystical rod of goodness?

Mods to the Accord are s/s manifold, decat and exhaust, typhoon induction, balancer shafts removed, coolant bypass as well as minor weight reduction. Suspension is TEIN adjustable coilies and bremtech disk with Ferodo racing pads all round. Wheels are 2.5kg lighter than stock each and there are lightweight nuts holding them on.

Miles better than the civic, the lsd really makes a difference and it sounds like thunder in the vtec zone. Definately a fun daily driver but my heart lies with the bigger displacements...

as pezza said it centralized the rear axle. As camaros run a solid beam axle and the are only connected to body at one side as the axle moves up and down it moves to the side. When lowered with about half to full tank of fuel is where you want it centered between the arches.

US companies such as UNI, BMR, spohn etc all sell them. So UK guys too. I shipped all my stuff from states in one go :D

Hi nice looking camaro :thumbup: We also run an Accord type r as wifes car. Know what you mean about VTEC lump being a screamer but it doesnt come close to sound of a V8 :lol:
