We got a media blaster in the end as the panels we got done were ruined by people who didnt understand how to do it. We still tend to strip by hand and do any rust and shuts etc with the blaster. Will be interesting to see yours all done.

Oh no, what happened?? Have they damaged the metal?! So does that mean you're going to be doing media blasting for customers too at the shop? :) When you've stripped by hand (hmm, that lends itself to many comments!) do you only do the bits you think will need attention... arches etc? or do you do the whole car? If it's the latter, does it not take a long time? Mine's getting closer to being done will update the project thread next week when it's at the next milestone. Hopefully will see yours about this summer too :)

Luckily the guys that will be doing the blasting are very experienced in this sort of job. They won't be touching the roof, as it's obviously the weakest part. All removable parts, wings etc are being stripped by hand.

No news yet, it may have been delayed due to a touring car being due in for prep.

Yeah you need someone experienced, Its mainly the rear of panels that will warp it like the holes in the back of the bonnet once a blaster even a small one shoots through it will warp the other side if not carefull. Some panels I would still sand after blasting to clean the steel as if its a coarse finish when you panel wipe it leaves bits on the surface.

Yes I am well chuffed :D especially when I've owned the car since 1990, and it's survived through all our weather :D
