Dear All
We have been invited to enter Butch at the Bugatti Owners' club Autumn Classic featuring American Automobile Fever at the famous Prescott Hillclimb near Cheltenham on 2 and 3 October 2010

The programme includes Demonstration runs with Corvettes, Harleys and Indians- races with flatheads- Elvis and the Las Vegas Show girls in the paddock (Sunday) US Yankee food- Wall of Death show
Mustangs vs Camaros

see
http://www.prescott-hillclimb.com/october2010.aspx

Come along!!
No idea what the competition will be like - but it should be great fun- Butch might do OK if I can manage the tight turns without doing a 3 point turn!!

Not yet- as soon as I know will let you know

But perhaps we should reserve a Camaro area for the "Club"?

I think there is special parking/ show area for classics- sadly this probably means series 1 and 2 Camaros only

But all would be welcome

Let us hope that my new radiator arrives in time!

Hi Tim, any more news on this & are you racing on both days? I'm hoping to go on the Sunday if I can, just depends whether or not I can escape from doing work on the new house we've bought

Anyone else from here looking to go??

cheers...Nige

Just to let you know that this weekend we competed in the Bugatti Owner’s club American weekend of racing at Prescott Hillclimb for US cars see with “Butch” a 600 bhp 1968 Chevrolet Camaro:
http://www.prescott-hillclimb.com/october2010.aspx

Despite the horrendous weather on Sunday we managed to come third in our respective classic Classes on both days Pre 1971 Classics on Saturday and “Interesting Cars” on the Sunday.

One commentator said that in the conditions Tim Boles' Racing Camaro is quite possibly the worst car to try to compete with on such a tight circuit, with so much power and so little grip.
Managing to overhaul a McLaren racing car with a 7 litre Chevrolet Big Block engine and which weighed considerably less than the Camaro- Tim Boles the driver commented “I might have gone even quicker if I didn’t have to do a three point turn halfway up!”. Amongst the "Interesting Cars" class Butch had one of the smallest engines! The other entries were:
a 25,420 cc Darracq, a 9,062 cc Piccard- Pictet Aero, an 11,760 cc Amilcar 8C Hispano. Winner was Simon Taylor in his "stovebolt special" a Chevrolet 6,200 cc engined special from the 1950s.

The event featured “Flatheads”- Hotrods from the 1930s with Flathead Ford V8s, as well as the usual fair of Corvettes, a Dodge Viper, Porsches, Triumphs, and MGs. An Elvis impersonator was on hand as well as the only “Wall of Death” motorcycle stunt team in the UK. And Daleks from the BBC Dr Who series
