 Post subject: oil pressure

Car Details:1995 3.4 v6 camaro
hi new member here i have just bought a 3.4 V6,my first V6 camaro i was just wondering where the oil pressure gauge should register on tick over it sits between quarter and half way when driving sits at about half way is this the correct reading cheers Simon

It should be on the halfway point and while increasing RPM, your oil pressure should also go up. The rule of thumb is for every 1K rpm increase, there should be 10 psi of oil pressure increase. If not, you either have a weak oil pump on its way to fail or have internal oil leak or a damage bearing or two.

Car Details:98 V6 Camaro black,grey leather interior vented/sloted disc,s chrome wheels
More likely sender not working or filter clogged, bearing would rattle if oil pressure that low
