Hi can any one help me with a seat belt query :? in my 1986 z28 the seat belts dont lock when you pull hard or brake sharp,it doesnt bother me but wife not happy about this even though i told her the screens a expensive so i wont let her go through it :twisted:so if any one can help it would be appreciated.

It's one of those American/European car quirks. The seatbelts in most American cars don't lock when you pull them hard, they work off the movement of the car. Rest assured, if you stop suddenly or worse crash, they will lock, just not when you try and simulate an accident by yanking them. This is sometimes useful information at MOT time also. Still, if you're having a hard time with a tester over that it's probably time to find a new garage anyway!

as west coast says it's a different method of locking IIRC it's to do with the momentum of the car (try screaming off the line and I think you'll find they lock then or, just to reassure the wife, an emergency stop should allays her fears)

dude... just noticed you're in Chelmsford - why don;t you pop on over to our monthly meet (1st sat of the month)... meet is at Boreham truckstop @ 19.20(ish) and then drive on down to Florida Imports in Danbury

Hi im about 15mins from chelmsford and when i finally get my trim back and get last bits finished i will come along and i will let britcam know as he is local too.cheers darren :thumbup:
