Is there another rival Camaro website in the UK I wonder ? I see more Camaros around than I do Firebirds and the POC website is always fairly lively (although run by an ever increasing PC brigade these days).
If there are any good mechanics on here (with time to spare) that can post up "how-to's" for general servicing then that would be awesome.
I'm not aware of any rival Camaro clubs, as far as I'm aware this is the only one. The problem as I see it is that this "Camaro club" has been pretty dormant for quite some time & any initial interest by potential "members" would have waned due to a lack of activity. I s'pose the more threads we post, then if more people do look in, then it'll attract more people to want to post & join in.
I could never understand how clubs like the Mustang Owners club, Classic Mustang club, Mopar Muscle Association & the Pontiac club have thrived & the poor old Camaro has little interest shown. It can't be due to a lack of Camaro owners, it can only be down to a lack of somewhere for them to communicate with each other. Hopefully this site will blossom into that place, who knows, but I guess it's up to us to make it happen
For this site to develop it has to be well publicized in the media & by word of mouth, hence my posts on this thread earlier. You can bet that just like me, there are a lot of Camaro owners out there that don't know this place exists, I just found it by accident
Good idea about the mechanics posting up how to's. I've owned a bodyshop specialising in the restoration of top end exotica, American cars & classics for just on 30 years, so i can help with any bodywork queries if needs be.
