STRIPES

well I've decided on the style of stripes I like (35th anni, I know that a 2000 isn't one but they just look great) but am curious as to if anyone on here has used either:

Camaro Graphics
or
Phoenix Graphix

currently CG is more appealing as they simply have a better range of colours (or should that be colors?  ) to use (and I have to say so far their customer service is great!)

LOWERING

seeing as the 4th gen looks like it's on stilts I'll be looking to lower mine next year.... question is since I'll not be going the 'cheap' way and cutting a coil or 2 which kit/supplier to use and why would you recomend them?

Wish-list

EBC dimpled and slotted brakes (not hugely impressed with the 'maro brakes)
Volant CAI
Corvette style fuel rail covers
True-dual exhaust (currently no rear silencer - there are points where this sounds just jaw-droppingly good, other just good but under merdium throttle it does get 'boomy/droney')

Other...

Given that I'll not be going racing in mine what mods would you do/have you done (and why)? Currently my list is:
Gun-metal grey alloys (curtesy previous owner, and I love them!)
The previously mentioned exhaust
Parrot Mki iPhone compatable handsfree/music streaming device (I reallly like the original Camaro unit  )
I'll be ordering the McNord instrument face replacement/overlay in the next couple of weeks

Hey nice to see there are some mods coming, I posted up my mods to come but unfortunatly im still saving for my EFIlive tuning suite (£650) :(

For the graphics I got mine from the US, just went on ebay and had a look (got mine of a dude called 'cole graphics' or something) But mine are just plain, not anniversary ones. Mine were cheap though like $50 plus about $10 or so shipping etc. Prob about £40-50 by the time they were here. If you have dealing with camaro graphics then just go with it, pick what you want most sellers are cool and ship to UK and have great service. From experience they think its cool for people in UK to have US cars :D

Lowering:
I have Eibach pro kit but DONT BUY THEM, the front spring rate is much better than stock and coupled with my KYB AGX shocks (which I would recommend) they are ace BUT the rears have been replace with some NO NAME lower springs from another camaro I got for bits. This is because the eibach rears are a lower inital rate of 80-120 lb/inch dual rate (or something like that?), but the point is that they are so low you actually bottom out on the lower rate before the higher rate kicks in and the rear looks way too low. I would recommend if I were to buy some more BMR, STRANO, UMI, or HOTPART as a supplier and have a look and read about their springs.

Brakes:
Mine has still got plain disks on from Woolfe Racing in Milton keynes (previous ovener put them on) along with some Bendix MKD749 semi metalic pads, apart from the occasional squeeking and dust they were pretty good with stopping and im just about to replace them but done know whether to go with the same pads again of try some ceramics ?? I think im swaying ceramic cause I am going to re-furb my alloys. But as for the disks the are good quality although I dont know what make, ill let you know if I find out. But htey have loads of meat left on after being though only one set of pads in the last 3 ish years :)
I have been told that although growed and drilled pads look good and may stay cooler (if on a race track) they also wear out pads much quicker by scraping off the top lay a bit with the groves. I dont know but ii still got loads on my disks anyways. Also Im in 2 minds about EBC pads, there is lots of good and lots of bad press so I dont know what to believe. A pal with a mustang said reds are good but need warming first (ceramic) and my mate with a monaro has yellows, which are much better than what he had but have worn loads and at £100 a pair I dont want a new set in 6 months

Air Intake:

I have the SLP lid (shipped from US with a K&N filter, and I have also done the underside cut out out, its much much better than it was. I also know you can get K&N induction kit similar to the volant one. They are all the same at the end of the day but i believe the open induction ones give more growl

True Duals:

Ill let you know how mine go in a few weeks (hopefully) but also remember if you lower the car there is less room and more issues with ground clearance
I have no silencer too, think I was the one who told you ?? and it much better than stock but the drone at certain rpms is bad (i turn music up) but soon Ill have the duals :D

sorry for the BIG message, if you need to know anything else gimme a shout. also, where about are you from??

Cheers for the reply dude... I live in Essex so quite a ways from you (unfortunately by the sound of things if you're able to make your own duals!!! ).... mind you a very good mate of mine with an LS1 T/A is a mechanic and lives up the road from me so that does help with some things to be done over the next 12 months

will keep you posted on progress

well my father is a fabricator, so i just give him a hand doing them, but have to get tuner first as i plan a cat delete (depending how it sounds) and need to tune for sensors etc. I'll get the pick up when i do it too, we might go for a under axle job, there is more room and the exhaust shouldn't hand too low, but we'll see. I also plan on removing my air con and porting my MAF and throttle body in the coming weeks too :D

well I can tell you another mate of mine has a red 96 T/A with headers, no cat and no mufflers (admittedly he also has a cam and some other engine work).... it is LOUD ... louder by far than mine

Normally I'd agree with you but I suspect (with my luck) the BiB might take too much of an interest  not to mention it'd probably ensure that the speed limiter wouldn't get in my c..... say... y'know what that could be a plan

seriously though I think on a long trip it'd drive you nuts unless you had some ear-plugs (part of me still would like to try though regardless!!!)

well I received the samples Camaro graphics sent me and a colour has been decided (just gutted I couldn't use the blue they do it was an amazing colour  )... just need to order them tonight - $260 delivererd (a little dearer since I want the roof striped too and the 35th anni's didn't have that) just hope HMRC doesn't decide to take their cut... think I could swing this as "printed matter"?

it depends what the seller puts down, i got some awesome dude put my headers down as a gift :D so i only paid VAT, still was like £50 but least there was no car parts tax. WOW they are expensive but if they are what you are after go for it and they seem to be a good company if they sent samples etc, so should be a quality job

yeah well the no silencer is ok actually as it is but it resonates due to the crappy stock Y pipe, as your will do too. Answer = turn up music. Anyways i'll pull it all out and if it too loud put something back in, i'll prob put 2 cherry bomb type mufflers at tips and have a removable rear section o it can also just be dumped for drag days :D

I like those, with the splitting into the flag style :D

I would have like some but I dont have SS hood so went for plane ones. I think yours will really set the car off, I know mine did and just gave it a bit of 'style' sort of thing. Good choice
