it is going to go storm grey which is the right colour for it and its 2k high build primer as i find the epoxy primer can crack after a time it has also been barcoated to seal it between primer and any paint that isnt sound underneath

looking very smooth! sometimes i wish we could keep them in primer, something about it just makes them look right!
I was hoping to have mine at this stage by now, but im still derusting! Did you sand down, then seal then 2k high build?
What else are you planning to do to it?
Cheers

i know what you mean about the primer looking cool, yes it was sanded down and filled in places to smooth things out and get rid of the dents that appeared[ some how],it was sealed before 2k primed as the paint underneath was not great and it didnt warrant bare metaling all over, it is haveing two tone grey leather to match outer colour and a few subtle changes that might not notice until parked against another z28

That should look good when it's finished, don't forget to keep us updated with pics. What future plans do you have for it?
I know what you mean about epoxy cracking sometimes. The usual cause is too many coats being applied. It should be a one coat finish, used as a sealer & to give a good adhesion key to the substrate underneath prior to the priming process.

look forward to seeing this one finished
cheers....Nige

you are right about the epoxy primer people think giving it loads of that sort of materials will make it better but what can happen is the panels underneath can flex and the primer is to thick to move with the panels,as for future plans engine detailing is on the cards and i am looking at super charging or twin turbo but only thinking at the moment, one thing at a time as its all down to a budget like everyone.cheers darren
