Hi,
this is my Camaro F1. Its 5.7l with low firm suspension, 18" chrome alloys. Not sure what else is not standard other than exhaust and air intake. Its an auto and goes like a rocket. Interior is leather and the seats are embossed with the 30th Aniversary logo.

I'd like some ghosted stripes on mine but will probably never get it done. Maybe a blower next....... Not sure I'd dare drive it actually!

CHRIS

Very nice indeed. Black is the only colour to have isn't it.

I'm picking up a white Z28 on Saturtday

+1 on the rims. What kind are they? They look like American Racing Torque Thrust II's or Boyd Coddington Smoothie II's.

continued for the other thread....

have you run it on the 1/4 yet? I can remember if i'd previously asked you or not?

I'm planning on doing heads and cam myself (if/when i get them), do all mods etc my self, fitted all my suspension etc. And im got some nice long tube headers on the way, and an LS6 intake waiting to got on, and getting EFI live OBDII tuner to tune it too :) And hopefully prepping up for the sub frame connectors next week, we got the pipe and stuff now

If your car has had some work done on it already there could be other stuff, but the intake and exhaust do make a real difference over stock. Mine was stock when i got it and i've picked up about 0.5 sec in quater with my mods. Its good you've got the suspension done too, its one of the things that makes the car much much better

I've not run the quarter. I need some "play" wheels first!

I've only changed the rear drop links, I believe that suspension mods were part of the F1 options. Shocks are Bilstein, I don't know whats standard.

I was costing up a new stainless steel back box and exits at the weekend, found a local shop that seems ok. Much prefer to be spending my cash on headers though!

I've been pricing up heads/cams etc. Quotes for the exact same parts have come in with up to £1000 difference! Shop around!!

I'd like to hook her up to a diagnostic/tuner too, you'll be having fun!

haha play wheels, i just leave my allows on , my 16" have worse tires, my falkens are well grippy after a quick burnout

yeah, i read up on the F! package. As far as im aware extra were better anti roll bars, suspension (ie the bilstiens, stock are DeCarbon), intake and exhaust

My dads a fabricator so were custom building me some true duals with X-pipe. Made some for my pals '04 GTO and it sounds awesome. Im buying the headers though, we cant make them for the price I paid £250 before British robbing tax, i just hope they come lol

the only problem with the LT1 like yours is the software is OBD1 or 1.5 so a little bit limited, im sure there are handheld tuners out there , i dont know how good they are but EFIlive for OBDII is a full custon tuning software, ill be as happy as a pig in mud :)

I looked at texas speed and spoke to the guys there and this other dude Lloyd elliot, b oth are similar price for parts and shipping. Some companies try rip you off on shipping :(

You need to get to York, superstocks are on May 3rd I think, bank holiday monday

I might have a run out to York then and have a look.

My LT1 is 1997, so its OBD2 compliant. I believe there are converters for LT1 to LS1 for EFI live. Mind you, i reckon I could make a royal ar*e of setting my engine up blind!

I was considering an Edlebrock top end kit. There are cheaper and more powerful alternatives, some using recon-heads etc, but at least everything would work together...and fit! It would of course be cheaper to buy something that has already been sorted.

I need to sort out my auto-box too. Big jolt dropping into gear (forward or reverse), changes ok though. Its done it since I got it. Fluid looks ok but I reckon a fluid/filter change is the first stop. Any experience of this?

The local exhaust man says its ok to try alternative (or no) back boxes and choose a preference by ear. Now that is a very sad but yet rewarding way of spending a Saturday morning!

maybe there is an EFIlive adapter. Im primerially using it to get rid of emissions stuff so i can run no egr pumps without getting codes, then mess with fuel trims etc, plus t will come in if/when i get a cam

Edlebrock are EXPENSIVE!!

try this, he seens pretty good from what the yanks have said, specially with the LT1s http://www.elliottsportworks.com/lt1.html

Nothing wrong with my auto yet, more my diff whine haha. Ill fix it when it goes. There is a common misconception that the autos are stronger than manuals in the 4th gens (as they usually are in the old yank tanks) but actually they are only rated to ~350-400 lb/ft of torque vs manuals at 450-500 ish. Only thing mine does is take a while to change 2 to 3 when its cold and im giving it some stick (which i have stopped doing now)

My opinion is to drive it till it needs changing really, these are the common problems http://www.gmtruckhq.com/?q=node/93, your shift into gear isnt and issue. Mine does it really, i take it you hold the brake and shift into gear with you foot still on brake? mine clunks, but its not like a slam?? also if and work has been done to it, it may make changes harder. Theres a pay off between performance orientated shifts and a smooth drive

First thing i did when i got it was remove the back box, i just have 2 pipes splitting from the axle and coming out each side with those cherry bomb type muffles, nice and loud. :D
