I wouldn't travel from the Isle of Man to go there Steve, but they do put on a pretty good show, mainly Corvettes of course but a good enough selection of other makes too. Usual stuff, awards, trade stands, beer tent plus a really good aerobatic display, helicopter rides and other stuff.

I'm sorting through my holiday plans for this year, what shows are you guys likely to be attending in the Summer? It'd be good to get a few Camaros together somewhere wouldn't it? I intend to do the show at Billing (can't rememeber the name or date). Went last year & had a good time so that's a definate, what else would you recommend?? Where are you planning on going, lets see if we can get something started shall we??

cheers....Nige

Depending on when it's finished I want to take in a few sprints with the Camaro. I'm also hoping to get to the NSRA Nostalgia Nats at Shakespear County Raceway on June 27-28th to see what it'll run over the 1/4 mile. Probably try the NSRA Hot Rod Drags at Shakespear Raceway as well on September 18-20th. Might take in a few shows as well. What shows would you recommend to others, cheers.......Nige

i intend to do loads of stuff this year, (mostly NSCC )
the 3 shows, which for me are a MUST, are the hotrods and hills run, in June (organised by fellow Cumbrian Craig Dixon) this more of a reliability run really, based in Ullswater in the lake district, the Saturday cruise is around 90 miles long, taking in Kirkstone and Honister passes, Windermere, Ambleside, Keswick , Thirlmere etc. The Sunday cruise is a bit shorter (about 25 miles) and goes up Hartside pass towards Alston.Just make sure your brakes are up to scratch......having said that, both cruises were completed by the 2008 NSCC championship winning car of John Osborne (a 9 second ford 100e)
As an interesting aside, Craig is also putting on 2 other events this year, named as "HOTRODS AND THRILLS" at Kirkbride airfield in western Cumbria, these are in conjunction with straightliners and incorporate a full 1/4 mile dragstrip and timing gear.

I also RELIGIOUSLY do the mopar nats at the pod every year, and the Kyle rod and custom show at Eglinton in Ayreshire in Scotland.(although a small show, it has the best and friendliest atmosphere of any show on the callendar)

I try to get to other shows, but these ones are a must for me.
