Ok,

So I got hold of a NEW EGR valve and fitted it.

No Change!!!!!!

The original Valve 'started' blowing exhaust gas thru the base of one of the 3 'solenoids' and then melted and went U/S
It blew hard and louder exhaust the harder the acccelerator was pressed

Withe the NEW replacement the car started and ticked over fine from cold, but a hard push on the accellerator it would emit a similar but less pronounced blow, as the earlier one did.

I can only draw the conclusion that some other sensor is telling the EGR to remain tight shut, and not allow it to open. I'm gonna have a fiddle about tomorrow but if anybody has any info that might be of help please let me know!!!

Just so as you know................

The Vacuum system is fine
The Air intake seems fine
The cannister/purge solenoid seems fine
Plugs/leads/ are all fine

Could it be the o2 sensors?

cheers
richard
