Apologies to all the club, but yet again I suffered the curse of Speedfest.
Got out on the road early, car running well, onto M25 and about 5 miles before Chobham services got clouds of smoke.
Slowed down and limped into the services, opened the hood and found lots of oil all over the headers and a leak from the valve cover.
AA saved the day,but 2 years in a row !!!
I suspect a faulty pcv valve built up pressure and blew a gasket, will check it out when I calm down...

See, said he had a good reason.
Home on a flatbed, two years on the trot, how unlucky can you get.

So Oddball & blackstar made it, y'all know why firebird68 and myself didn't.
Who else was supposed to be there? :eh:

Oddball, where were you located (in relation to last year)?
Tried to identify from pic but failed.
We were further down the main path from he main entrance, just before the Speed Dome and first stands, pretty good location :)

Sorry to hear firebird68, make one more bad thing happen between now and the next one and then the run of three bad lucks is up and out of the way for next year!
I was supposed to be there, long story short, was helping out one of the NASCARs and was supposed to drive in Camaro along with, but had a lot to do on NASCAR in days leading up so didnt get time to use Camaro for a mini shakedown before event, and didn't want to drive it long distance after having not used it in a year, plus had to be there early Friday, couldn't afford to miss it as I was needed to help out, so too much to think about and then leave Camaro parked up for full three days, didn't think it would be worth it just sat out of sight.
There's next year of course!

Thanks for the sympathy Ray, missed the best UK gathering twice in two years, Now got a regular ticking from the engine that I think could be a small end...pissed off to say the least.
Must have been good to get into the NASCARS.

Ray, that was the most piss-poor excuse I've ever heard.

Begs the question, why have you not used it for a year?

As for mine, had to order more parts, the bits that connect the 'sway' (anti-roll) bar to the lower wishbones were shot, so more delay.
Hopefully will be sorted and MOT'd next week, then will be using it again.

You lot really need to meet up more than once a year. If you live 'Norf' of the river, and can drive all the way to Brands, it's surely possible to make some of the other meets.

What's the ticking sound like firebird68? Had it a bit on mine and adjusted the rockers amd seems a lot better.
Hopefully you can make the third one in a row!

Yes sorry... not the best excuse I know. Links into not using the car for the past year, had a lot of personal stuff to deal with. Done a few miles though already this year so gettin there.

Any ideas for any meet ups this summer, maybe more central location?
