Rear window glass leaking so apparently I need it removing and resealing; not a case of replacing the rubber so I’m told.

Anyone know of a Company I can take my ‘73 to, London, Middlesex, Surrey, Hampshire areas.

Want to get it done correctly and not get the clear mastic out...

Yes and no ;(

I've taken my glass out and was looking for someone to put it back in.

I contacted Peter Jones at https://www.americanglass.co.uk/ not knowing that he was no longer local. He gave me the details of someone in the area.

Unfortunately, I've lost those details.

I'm not sure that you need an American specialist though. From what I've seen a number of modern vehicles have the screens glued in with urethane, so any glass company should be capable. The main thing to get right is the set height, so that the chrome trim fits properly, without a large gap.

Be prepared for the possibility that you might have to do some repairs to the metal work before re-fitting. From experience, you won't see it until the glass is out and all the old sealant cleaned off.

Thanks, the local garage has someone they use although they would charge their labour to manage the job so adding to the cost.

I saw American Glass and as you say, they are not local to me; based in Shropshire. I can give Peter a call next week and see if he still have a local number nearer to London.

Think I brought it last year with the problem so bit annoying wasn’t told about it...

Car Details:68 pontiac firebird coupe project car,my aim is a street friendly, lightly modified pro.touring style.
Lowered ,mild body mods,400 cu in SBC engine, Muncie 4speed, 10 bolt posi axle, disc front drum rear.
68 firebird convertible ( long term project) Stock resto/mod style ,400 pontiac th350
Remove the glass yourself , cut it out with a sharp thin blade and do not try to pry it as they are fragile and need gentle removal.
Once the glass is out check the surface of the metal and remove any rust and repair .If you don't it will leak again for sure.
Most local glass specialists can do the job but you will need a set of new clips for the trim.

If only I had the confidence and skills to do it; if I screwed it up (high likelihood) it would cost more than getting someone skilled in. If you know someone or have the time to do it, happy to pay...

Thanks for the reply though...
