Aldershot is fine, and I can do Sat morning now.

Would it be possible to delay any cutting until I can get there take a look? No point cutting something up if I'm not happy with it. Re prices, I'd rather take a look at it all an gauge condition before suggesting prices. I'm happy to negotiate when I'm there - I might even thing of a few more bits I'd like.

There is already one bit I've thought of - I was going to rebuild the lip of the passenger outer wheel house, but If I can cut part/all of a good one out, that would save me lots of time. I'll post a pic later.

Can you let me know (via PM?) the address where I need to go? What time are you going to be there? Do I need to bring any tools?

Here's what I'm looking for on the outer wheel house lip - The area inside the red is where I need to rebuild. If I can get this as a patch, or even cut out the whole panel would be even better. I guess it depends on how happy the guy is for the car to be cut up.

From what i've read, I think virtually all post 78 cars were metric steering boxes, no idea how to check without physically trying to fit hoses though.

I'm up for lower front grille and any super clean rear lights if any...

My 79 was origainlly a non-metric steering box. 1979 was the switch over year, so could be either.

I think the only way tell is to remove the hoses and look at ends/ports. Early type were a flare fitting (flared up in the box and inverted on the lines.) The newer style use o-rings on the lines and therefore don't have flare in the port on the box.

A sit.rep. for you that are still on the lookout for parts. I was able to get a day off work and borrow a car, so was able to get down there yesterday.

As previously stated there are 5 late 2nd gens. They have all come from a film studio, where they were used as stunt cars. Some are 'complete'. others are crushed, cut up. All of them have some form of damage, as they were used with pyrotechnics. I also noted that they aren't all z28s, but are clones for filming. The vents looks to be fibreglass replicas, rather than the original metal, and the fenders have been cut for them.

There are 3 complete body shells, that must remain complete, with doors, trunk lid, fenders, bonnet and nose. These are all sold to the same person. It is possible to take bits off it, i.e. trim, headlights etc. There's not much left though, as it looks like some has gone before I got there. All of them can lose the rear axles and subframes. I think there was a full steering linkage on all of them. Note that on at least one of the sub-frames, there were no front springs and the arms are welded directly to the sub-frame.

3 of the lower grills are already gone. I found 2 others, but junk. There was only one set of (useable) fenders left, I got those for myself.

Of the 2 incomplete cars. one has been through a crusher and most of it is totalled. There is a passenger side front fender extension that looked good and could be used. Not sure that there was anything else that could be used from it.

The other has been cut into various pieces, possibly by the studio. The front subframe is out and could be used. The front nose looks to be reasonable, but the core support and inner fenders were trashed. I've cut up the rear body work, and may want the rear bumper. There was a usable axle under it. There is a pair of doors, but I didn't look too closely at them. One is on the car and I wasn't able to open it.
There is a roof panel, including a-pillars which might also be usable.

There are a few odds and ends from various cars, including interior pieces, a fender flare, an 80 hood scoop (with induction flap). This is all tucked inside/near the white 3rd gen and you'd need to dig into it to find them.

What did look good, but was out of my price range, where a few sets of wheels. Brand new, with new tyres a silver alloy with gold center in snowflake sort of design. You can see the back of these in some of Ray's pictures. They need adapters to fit, but there are loads of these attached to the cars and will be available. He wanted £350 a set (there are 2-3 sets) - not sure if that included the adapters.

Shell sections depend on what parts you need. Realistically there's only one shell available for cutting up, and it's already been cut to some extent. I'd also say that of the 5 cars they had, this one was the most rusted. What were you looking for specifically?

There was a hood, that might have been a bit bent, but that may have just been the scoop on it. Might be useable for you. The shell section below is there, but it's already in 2 pieces, so it depends on exactly what you need.

Inner deck filler section? If this is the panel between the trunk and the window, then no there isn't one. If however you mean part of the actual shell, then yes I think that is available and rust free.

There were at least 2 rear sway bars, still attached to the cars and would be available, but I think there were others interested in that as well.

Hi as I can't get photos at moment car under a pile of bits,cowl panel rock auto p/n gmk402138070 the section that you see through windscreen that extends to firewall mine is rusted out at foot of front windscreen pillars water trap.the rear inner panel I think p/n gmk4021712701a.the section the boot hinges are attached to,my hinges are no longer fixed just big hole with the rust extending to what could be some form of quarter panel inner bracing, hope this helps

I'd say there was a good chance of those being there and useable, but as said the cowl is cut in two pieces down the centre line, front to back.
