Little update, looks like 2 of the axles will be 2.41 ratio 10 bolt open carrier.
There's 1 which may be z28 (still researching what that would be ratio wise). Jon Buss has dibs on that.

I'm after a much lower ratio than I have (appears to be 3.08 in mine) - wasn't fun doing 2,800rpm @ 70mph to brands hatch and back! Miss the 3rd gen ratio - 1,850@70mph.

I should be there this Tuesday morning again if anyone needs info / pics. It'll only be a short visit so will be moving quickly. Will have more time on Sat.

I'm interested in the z28 fenders, and also on the lookout for a LSD rear, but only if the ratio is 2.7 or numerically higher.
Might also be interested in a set of rear springs.

BTW. If I find a LSD with a ratio I'm looking for, I will have a 2.41 LSD for sale/swap.

Another thought, if we can cut bits out of the body, I'm interested in a couple of areas. Provided they are rust free, I'd want the top of the tail panel, and including the trunk gutter and the pieces above the water tail lights that join the tail to the quarter panel. (Can supply pics for clarification later). Other sections would be the bases of the A-pillars where they disappear under the cowl panel. The possibly some of the lower /inner cowl too.

Thought of some more things - rear bumper cover trim pieces and the bracket that holds the rear lights loom as it passes through the tail panel.

Ok so I think he wanted 100 per z28 fender (200 per pair). Think there's a few to choose from. Will grab pics on sat. Where are you located? Pm me as maybe you can come down on sat? Closes at 1pm.
What was the rear bumper cover trim piece? Is that the bit of metal that attaches over the bumper and the quarter panel? If so I think there were a few sets there. Will need to check on loom bracket... if it's between the bumper and metal panel (i.e. the same gap that the lights are in) then should be there.
Checking axles on sat... they look to be standard 2.41 open diff. Just to be sure I'm using the correct terminology, there were 3 axles types? Open diff ( standard 1 wheel burnout), then lsd (limited slip) then posi (close to what a welded axle would be)?
Pics would be great for cutting bits out - mayne draw a line showing where the cuts should be made. I'll have to ask him on his thoughts on cutting stuff out can't see why he would say no. They seem pretty rust free, most appear to be van Nuys cars so will have been built to sell in calli and nearby, so assuming they spent much if their time there. Cheers!

Not sure if I can make this Sat, but will see. Could do with knowing availability/prices ahead of time (got to sweet talk the wife!). When do you think you'll know regarding the cutting yes/no and prices for all the bits?
Bumper trim - yes that's the part.
From memory, the light loom clip thingy is inside the trunk.
AFAIK, there are 2 types of diff - open and LSD. Posi is just another name for LSD, and descibes the mechanical way it's achieved, in this case being springs and clutches.

The negotiations went as well as usual (badly!), however, I do have relunctant permission to go ahead

I'm still not sure if I can make this Sat, but can you let me know where it is, and what other days/times are available?

On the cutting front, I've realised it's not easy to find pictures that show exactly what I want, and even with the pics, it's not easy to show where to cut due to the complexity.

The red hear outlines the bit that I'm after, and green is the suggested cutting lines.
Image

I think this would interact with the next bits, which again I've highlighted the part I need intact in red, from outside and then from inside the trunk, with suggested cut lines in green.

To finish that off, I think you'd need to cut around here on the quarter

Now looking for suitable pics of the A-pillars - there's none in my collections, so will have to look on the web.

Sorry I thought I had replied!!
Thanks for the pics, that should be do-able. Will show them to him on sat. It's in Aldershot, Anywhere near you? Ye the price thing... I think best thing is to let me know what you would pay for each part, ill point out the things to him and ask what he wants for them and then see if they match up. If theres a difference I'll put you guys in touch to negotiate. Ideally the way it works is i point out the parts and then get them put into piles for each person and then they can be picked up and paid for from his place. Idea is to save him having to deal with loads of enquiries as he's not sure what parts are called etc. That's ok if you can't make this sat, he plays it by ear for how busy he will be so may not be able to do every sat. If you can't make this sat he's there Monday to sat, so it's easy enough to pick stuff up if it's already pulled. Hope that helps! I'll get pics and more info on sat either way. Cheers!
