Has anyone joined an American or a Camaro Club? Just wondering as some insurance companies are offering discount to become a member.

Any recommendations on Insurance Companies for American Classics?

I joined the AACuk which got me a little discount with Footman James for insurance.

Graham Sykes give you 20% discount for AAC-UK membership although £31.00 to join which covered the discount. Let's see what other benefits I get to justify the cost.

Another question, purchase an immobiliser or a big yellow steering wheel lock? I hear the immobiliser could be a challenge on a '73?

If I was to choose anything then a visible deterrent would work best, less hassle and more likely to stop them breaking in.

These cars virtually never get stolen, unless targeted specifically as a high value show car (usually classic fords - escorts, Lotus cortinas etc..) , in which case alarms and crook locks won't help.
Most joyriders/bank robbers won't take the chance.

Thanks Oddball and Chevy-stu, big yellow deterrent then as it's visible then the numbnuts won't break-in to find it won't start. Anyway, the noise this thing makes will scare the crap out of them!

Rearview mirror question: recommendation for attaching rearview mirror to windshield? Too obvious to say superglue or metal/glass glue?

I have a terrible aftermarket suction type one. OK if you are struggling but I want to replace mine (add it to the long list...)

I bought some Loctite mirror adhesive for mine.. worked great.

Same here. I used it when I upgraded to a 4th gen mirror (with built in lights). It's heavier than the one it replaced and it stayed put.
