Hey there.

Saying Hi from Yorkshire. Picked up my '69 Camaro (Base, Not SS as someone stuck badges on - hate that) June last year after wanting a project to keep me busy between working offshore, the Camaro was the only choice for me. Turned out to be a bigger project than first thought once I stripped the engine, interior, body paint & everything else for that matter - so I decided - hell just build my dream car since I'm this far in.

However, I am almost on the road to building it back up once I get it back from paint in a few months!

I have a few parts that are available for sale that I will be putting up in the for sale thread once I'm allowed to do so. Some things that may perk your interest, or not!

Anyway, would be great so see if there are any fellow Yorkshire guys with a 1st Gen in the surrounding areas!

Few pics of the car when I got it, looks nice condition on the pictures but there was some nasties being hidden as usual. Its going to be a world apart from that once I'm finished with the build.

Chat soon, Cheers!

Jake

Hi Guys,

Thanks, Yes it came pretty stock apart from the quite a high end 396 Big block, 12bolt with Richmond gears, Koni shocks and VBP composite leaf springs. By the host of Autometer gauges and terrible wiring system I think it was used on the drag strip mainly. One thing I am looking forward to doing it fitting the new American Autowire full update harness, probably just below installing the freshly built 396 (...410!). :)

90% of the build is decided upon already. However - Still undecided whether to go Ride tech 4link route or just upgrade to Hotchkis springs front and back. Wont be going on track but I do want it to handle semi-reasonable. If anybody on here has had the same dilemma would love to hear your thoughts/experience.

I do know I'm having some custom lightweight D-type Nascar 17" wheels made by Bassett, USA - as the original idea of Forgeline 19's and Baer brakes price tag is just too much to handle when I put too much thought into it.

I will post some pics when I get it back from the paint shop :)

Thanks,

Jake!
