Right, just about to make up a new headliner...
I've stuck some insulation panels (self adhesive silver coated foam stuff) on the inside of the roof already, and I have the old very bent and wavy board to use a template.
I was gonna use some good quality thin 6mm ply, with a material of some sort stuck to it...

First query is, what glue to use, as I used normal spray on contact adhesive before, but it starts to sag and fail when the car gets hot. Maybe i need a better brush on type like Evo stick, or are there any other products i don't know of.

I've used thin foam backed proper perforated headliner vinyl before when recovered it about 12 years ago, but fancy something different.
I was thinking either a thin carpet type material as it's hardwearing (old headlining ended up with marks from crash helmet rub on trackdays), or a plain thicker upholstery vinyl, or something a bit snazzy like fake alcantara etc... what's the thoughts... ?

I'll try and buy some extra as I want to recover the rear side interior panels too as mine are a bit rough, and also need to make a parcel shelf so may as well do it in all the same stuff...

How are you going to form "good quality thin 6mm ply" into the roof shape that the original has ?

Try shag carpet or crushed velvet for covering.... :lolno: :lolno: :lolno:

I used a similar material to original for mine, reinforced the original headliner form with Levi denim.

I´d ask an upholsterer about the glue, get the strong industrial stuff, mine has´nt collapsed on my head since I recovered it.

it 'should' just lift in the middle where the interior light screws in..old one has zero form now
