Anyone else here seen the new Top Gear Episodes, with shouty Chris Evans and co.

5 Episodes in and it's kind of got better, very different to the old one with Jezza and the sidekicks but that was to be expected.
Chris Harris is great, though I've been watching his vids on youtube for years, unbelievable car control and very engaging. Sabine is great too but her bits are way too scarce. Eddie Jordan is just plain annoying. Rory grated on me at first but is getting better and doing well for a TV novice. Chris Evans I find annoying in this role too, just too shouty and seems to be trying too hard to be boss. Matt is super cool and very watchable.

Aside from sabine and eddy they are all not worthy, rumours say the wooden actor that is mat le blanc has threatened to quit if they don't sack Chris evans, I can't bear it personally and would rather watch sabine thrash a transit round the ring all day than those other plums

I have watched every episode so far and my comments are thus:

1. They missed an opportunity to revamp it, but chose to stick to the same formulae
2. It just doesn't work as well without the three goons joking about
3. Chris Evans is far too shouty but had been toned down and his role reduced.
4. Matt LeBlanc is surprisingly good and should be the new lead for sure
5. While a great driver, I don't think Sabine is good at presenting
6. The other Chris and Rory are both pretty good, but with so many presenters we don't get the same camaraderie as with Clarkson, Hammond and May
7. Eddie Jordan should (feel free to fill this bit in)

That being said, I still love seeing the cars and will continue to watch - but then I watch any car program available!

The nearest show that seems the have the most natural presenter 'camaraderie' you mention is Finnegan Freiberger in the the US HotRod magazine spinoff 'Roadkill'.

New series started 3 weeks ago, and it's way better... no ginger shouty one, no paddy twit, more cars, better driving fun, guest lap back to old format..

Not sure I agree, if they stopped trying to copy the old Format that appeared to develop as a result of the three amigos and concentrated on making a decent car show...... I'm developing a distinct dislike for that Harris guy as well, he reminds me of an overexcited puppydog, always too excited and eager to please

To be honest, I am quite enjoying the 2nd series of new TG.
I have also been watching the 'old 3' in Grand Tour on Amazon, and I'm not totally convinced.
Towards the end of their time at the beeb, I got bored with their camping, caravaning and other similar antics.
I often record old episodes on Dave, but fast forward through all that crap.

But I obviously know nothing 'cos I quite like wheeler dealers. ;)

I just watched the last episode of tg this afternoon, whilst I have the utmost respect for sabines driving skills trying to convince the world that a vw golf is in any way a lamboughini beater is bordering on the ridiculous

Maybe, if you are driving your own megabucks machine, you won't be going as 'balls-out' as if you're a pro driver in a not-so-megabucks-but-still-pretty-quick machine, paid for by a TV company.........just a thought. Also she is probably the fastest regular Ring driver. Don't forget how quick she punted that Transit van round there.
