I am sure I have the correct place as I can see two holes about the right space apart

I could be wrong but I thought these were installed with rivets from the factory not screws/bolts?

I've heard both - Mine has it bolted on and when i checked the hidden vin it matched up. Unless someone removed it to clean it before? Need to find a completely stock original one to check
