Not sure why, just love seeing the 2nd gen on track so here are a few images I have robbed off Google.

Did you know a member here and racer Big Al, has one of the 12 Penske IROC race cars in your 2nd and last pic, and is currently restoring it.

That is really cool! I mean the colour is appalling (assuming it will be rebuilt in the same colours!) But just knowing it was driven by Andretti!

I'd love to race just never managed to get started, and racing classics would be frankly awesome :)

There are a couple of folks on here that race in the HCC series (i think i remembered that right). sportsroof and i think the other chap has 55 in his username (i'm terrible with names!).

I have seen them race at Silverstone a couple of times, great fun to watch. Definitely worth getting into if you can. I would like to get into racing. Used to race karts as a kid and miss racing a lot.

Where possible, a photo sharing service can be used such as Flickr, Imgur etc. The image location (usually ending in .jpg) can be copy and pasted between the ][ brackets that appear when you click the 'Img' button (you can find this button at the top of the message box).

How to post youtube vids: Click on the 'youtubeHD' button at the top of the message box and in the middle of the ][ brackets that just appeared, copy and paste everything from the youtube web address that appears after the = sign i.e if this is the url: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2cNqaPSHv0 just copy "K2cNqaPSHv0").

The racing club you mention is HSCC: http://www.hscc.org.uk/
Nick Savage (Number55) races the ex Hugo Dixon '69 Camaro which I have had many interesting battles with in my '70 Mustang but the HSCC's inflexible approach to brakes (Nick has Wilwoods, I was not allowed) meant that I could not continue. So I changed clubs and I'm am now with CSCC: http://www.classicsportscarclub.co.uk/
where they allow me any brakes so I now have 4-wheel discs!
To anyone thinking of racing, just do it. You will never have more fun with your clothes on and maybe off too! What other justification is there for owning a big, powerful V8 musclecar? HTH
Cheers, Martin

I have wanted to race all my life just never been able to afford to start, or things get in the way. I was close to winning a scholarship to the Fun Cup race series about 7 years ago which is the closest i have got! Got into the final 10 from over 1000 entries :)

Yeah I was always sort of interested but eventually realised I didn't want to be dreamer all my life and did not want to end up regretting what I had not done as well as what I have done!
No talent, no scholarship, nobody telling me I was good (quite the opposite in fact!) plus,of course, entirely the wrong car to start racing with, but I did it anyway. That was 16 years ago.
As was pointed out to me many moons passed, if you really want to race, you'll do it, if you don't want to, you'll find excuses not to. That's not intended to be a criticism of anyone but I'm sure you understand the message. HTH
Cheers, Martin
