... it would require about 400 tiles to cover the floor? which would cost £1,000  ...
Maybe just tile the centre bit the car's actually on, edged where benches tools are etc.. don't need it, just paint

Not thought about epoxy flooring, mainly as i didn't know it was a thing :) Looked it up and now i know how places have those cool shiny floors! Will see how much they cost, i guess they are better resistant to things like oil and chemicals too which is a bonus. Probably a lot easier to keep clean as well.

Crikey, taken 2 full days to empty the garage, cabinets removed, things boxed away etc. Lots of spiders found. Tomorrow it's dust removal from ceiling and walls, then jetwash and self levelling cement for the corner. If there's enough time i will start painting the ceiling and walls as that's the next job. After that, cement should be ready for paint so the floor can be repainted. Then all the shelves get repainted and reinstalled. Should have hired some kids from the street whilst they were on summer holidays to do all this stuff. Looking forward to having a clean garage, it was at the point where moving anything kicked up a mini dust storm, even after having cleaned all the visible areas. Will also be sorting through a lot of stuff, think i will have a couple of fenders up for sale along with some other parts.

Just a few lol.
So far it looks like i'll have a passenger and driver fender, a centre console for an auto, a rear centre spoiler, a dash gauge bezel, a gauge cluster and some random interior bits.
Garage is taking ages. Finally got it all cleaned and about to start the self levelling bit. Will add some pics as i've taken some along the way. Powerwasher was a lot of fun, brought some parts of the wall up to brand new look in no time which was pretty cool. Ended up doing the ceiling too and now all of the electric points are soaked (i switched off the mains fuse in the house before starting and looks like it's going to stay switched off for at least a week. Aim is to get the concrete sorted today and the ceiling and walls painted. Concrete needs 24 hours to dry before paint, so will paint the floor tomorrow. Floor is touch dry in a few hours but apparently takes 1 week to cure. Good thing that for once i had some foresight and bought a fitted car cover a few years ago!

Self levelling concrete is down and was easier than i thought! Took 2 20kg bags to level an area of approx 3x3m, with a fill of approx 2 - 3mm in height. Pretty level now, and will be a lot easier to keep clean and move stuff around on. Ran out before i could fill some cracks in the floor, so will get some polyfilla designed for concrete cracks.

Painted one half of the ceiling with 2 coats, didn't realise how yellow and rough it looked until seeing the contrast of both sides. Have no lighting so had to stop about 8pm. Will need to paint the other half straight after work whilst it's still light over the next couple of days Took about 4 hours as it's not a flat roof - has all the girders inbetween that slows down progress. Walls should go a lot quicker as it's plain. Then the floor can be painted, and it will take a few days to fully cure, so i can put up the shelving in that time before moving cars in.

Got the other side of the ceiling done and had to do another coat on the other ceiling as it was still bit patchy. Filled all the cracks and random holes that had been drilled over the years, so the walls all are painted now. Need to give the floor a good clean to get rid of areas where there has been oil and grease stains. It's on an already painted floor, so the concrete hasn't absorbed it which is good. Will try a few things like panel spirit wipe, brake cleaner, acetone and tool cleaning wipes to clean up the areas. Tempted to give it a quick jetwash after, as there are loads of speckles of white paint from the ceiling. Plan on getting the cleaning part done tonight, so that the floor can be painted tomorrow, meaning by the weekend the floor will be cured and useable.

Ah yes, the important thing! It's sat under a car cover at the moment. I thought, there's not much point in MOT'ing and taxing it as i will be so busy on the garage, and then i'm off to the U.S in a couple of weeks, for a couple of weeks, so it would be sat unused for over a month. Should be packing stuff back into garage this weekend, then following weekend is packing for U.S, so mid October when i get back, will take it for an MOT.

Safe to say yours will be on the road before then :)

I can see the point of getting the garage prepped before getting the 2nd gen car fully finished. The amount of of filler and primer dust lurking in there must be measurable by tons now...
