That's one of the nice things getting hold of these older cars - finding bits of memorabilia :) I've found hair combs, chewing gum (still in the packet luckily) and parking toll receipts.

Engine bay cleaned up very nice! What did you use? Jet washer / elbow grease?
Jet wash small stiff brush and for soap i use an old school trick 1 litre of boiling water with as much bio washing powder that will dissolve spray on with paraffin gun works a treat more often than not case of spray on washing powder mix have a cup off tea then jet wash no elbow grease

The big job I would like to do to the camaro would be convert it back to auto personally I think been manual spoils the car I think its the sorta car that suits been auto, from what I understand the manual box is kinda sort after so hopefully selling the manual setup will pay for the auto bits, the only downside is I will have to weld a section of trans tunnel in which seems a shame as the car has never been welded before lol.
The ideal situation would be to do a swap with someone who wants a manual conversion. will be a winter job so plenty of time to rake the bits together

I think you're on of the first people I've heard of that has a manual car and wants an auto :D ... The autos do work well, especially if it's a daily driver, but the manual makes it a bit more of drivers car.... I'm sure someone would be up for a swap somewhere, possibly easier to swap cars in reality...

I have to say despite a life of shunning auto boxes (I even made sure my 68 Mustang was a manual) both of my current cars are auto's. My Jeep Patriot is and so is my Camaro, and I love them both!

Ok maybe not as interactive as a manual but still loads of fun and so much easier to drive. I certainly don't want to change! :)

My daily driver is auto, and it's mainly because Id had 2 gearbox rebuilds on the camaro, i wanted an overdrive top gear, and I was starting to drive it on proper windy road stuff I went manual..

I'd say there is little point in converting it back to auto. The manual cars are worth quite a bit more as they're desirable and fairly rare. You're better off selling (you're bound to make a profit at the price you bought it!) and buying another auto. The autos are much more common and cheaper, plus they came with the 5.7l engine, which goes some way to compensate for the slushbox transmission!
