Sorry to hear about having to sell and about the back :(

What kind of back issues are you having? I (literally) feel your pain.

Chevy Suburbans may be something to look into. Mate has one (PhillCamaro) and driven quite a bit in it, even down to Southampton and back one evening. Very comfortable seats, plenty of suspension travel, good height (you don't fall into the car seat and use the roof to pull yourself out) and most have V8's and the 90's one aren't too pricey at the moment (seen a few for under £5k). They have the same engines as the Camaro's, so you would have a 4th gen block in there if i remember right.

What about a potentially more comfortable classic American?

A 1966 Pontiac Bonneville or 1966 Ford Galaxie?

Hell if you need a grandad car (sorry, spinal column friendly) then a Cadilliac!

Alternatively something bigger like a Jeep or a Ford F150 Harley Davidson edition :)

My back is proper pickled, 3 discs are crumbled or "dessicated",two are posterior protrusions or "slipped discs", no curvature or lordosis at the Base of my spine which leads to a permanent whiplash type thing in my neck, narrowing of the spinal canal, osteoarthritis, bone spurs, lots of musclespasms etc. Too much damage to operate on. I do like pickups but they are a bit to boaty and with my condition I need a bit more Comfort, and jag str's are a real steal atm, 4 liter blown 400hp V8 autobox and luxury, quick pulley change and remap and it's a 440bhp 12 sec 4.6 0-60 4 door monster :-)

Sorry to hear about your back, it sounds like it is in worse condition than mine was when i finally forced them to operate a couple years ago.

Would they not consider doing something like this https://www.stockport.nhs.uk/documents/ ... 2_TO47.pdf it helped me get of the crutches and sticks once they had done it

My back is beyond that unfortunately, where the discs have crumbled the ends of the vertebrae have what they call "reactive end plate changes" meaning where there used to be a sort of socket for the disc the bones have turned soft and jelly like, it was misdiagnosed Consistently by the NHS for nearly 20 years which caused so much deterioration and instability that 3 surgeons have told me it's inoperable

Bugger, sorry to hear it's that bad, they really haven't done you any favours have they :)

Sounds like you need to go look at a nice caddy with a sofa for the front seat :)

That's pretty much it, I have a shogun and a crv that are both extremely comfy and can drive them with no issues as they are autos and like an armchair, im happy to keep it if I can't get what I want for it and found a "show car" SS with 21,000 miles on the clock up fot $32,000 earlier this week! Mine isn't a show car and if that one will achieve anything like the asking price is debatable bit from an investment point of view it's only going to gain value, z28's with the anniversary package are commanding silly money now, they only made the LT1 engined SS for a year as they swapped to the ls engine in 98 and they made around 80 SS coupes like mine of which only half were manuals(the rest were t tops and cabriolets) and I bet a few of the coupes were chopped up for racing or wrapped round trees over the last 19 years
