Do you have Hurst or Fischer T tops?
A little mentioned trick that i only noticed while going through the factory manual on my 3rd gen, is that the t tops seals are supposed to be lubricated with silicon grease regularly, so that when you slide the t top into place, it doesn't get caught and pull the rubber, instead it slides over and fits into place better. I guess that once the seals are too far gone, it may not make a difference, but if they are newish, then a good practice. I did this to all the seals recently - door, boot and bonnet (the bonnet used to stick a bit when opening, but now it doesn't

How to post pics: When writing a message, scroll down and use the "attach file" option. Where possible, a photo sharing service can be used such as Flickr, Imgur etc. The image location (usually ending in .jpg) can be copy and pasted between the ][ brackets that appear when you click the 'Img' button (you can find this button at the top of the message box).
How to post youtube vids: Click on the 'youtubeHD' button at the top of the message box and in the middle of the ][ brackets that just appeared, copy and paste everything from the youtube web address that appears after the = sign i.e if this is the url:
