Well after much deliberating and with deep regret I'm going to have to sell the SS for health reasons, my back.is shot to shit and realistically I can't drive her and walk properly for the next week. She is a fully loaded six speed 30th anniversary SS and probably the rarest camaro in the country as I haven't found another, prices are climbing for these in America now and from.the SS and Slp registers I can only find just over 80 anniversary package SS coupes were made (the rest being t bars or convertibles) and of the 80 around half were manual transmission. So she is a six speed, white with white leathers, Slp options were level 2 Bilstein suspension, oil cooler, torsen diff, 30th anniversary package, SS floor mats, Hurst short throw shifter, correct ZR1 wheels, previous owners added 13" corvette discs and calipers (I renewed the discs last year) and a stainless steel power flow dual resonator exhaust system, I have added a genuine Slp lightened and balanced flywheel, plug in jet performance chip and an Slp manual cooling fan override switch, I have replaced the water pump, changed all fluids and filters and plugs(not a job for the feint hearted) and rear tyres, pads etc along with leaky diff and Mains seals. Massive history file and also about 3 spare clutches to come with her. She is coming up to 19 years old and has been driven so isn't a trailer Queen but is the only one in the country so you will never meet another at a show and the value is only going to go one way, a true collectors car and rare as hens teeth whilst being modern enough to use everyday having abs etc composite body so rust isn't an issue and a claimed 5sec 0-60, 13 in the 1/4 and just shy of 160mph top end, Pricewise it's the only one in the country so there isn't a comparison but the last 35th anniversary SS I saw was up for 13k and they are a lot more common and we're made in much greater numbers so it's open to offers of 5 figures, I'm looking for something with a V8(upwards of 300bhp) and auto box and comfy seats if anyone wants a swap or px. mileage is about 68,000 I think with all the mot's to back it up and I am.in no hurry to part with her, vin no checks out on the SS register(there are quite a few clones about) and I have the original bill.of sale from the USA as well.as.all.the order sheets and other documentation. So if your interested and serious drop me a pm, no test pilots or joy riders though

I'm gutted that I can't keep it, not sure what I'll get instead, maybe another camaro with an autobox in, quite fancy a jag s type r which is a 12 sec 1/4 4.6 0-60 vehicle with an £800 pulley change and a remap, whatever it is it needs to be comfortable, the camaro is built for speed not comfort, the biggest problem seems to be valuing it, I have seen a few advertised in the states for around $20,000 which roughly equates to the same amount in pounds if you were to pay Import and tax etc, not being 30 years old you would pay full whack. There isn't another outside of America I can find to compare it to and the proverbial penny has just dropped with people as to how rare and collectable this model is, if a much more common 35th anniversary goes for 12-13k is this worth less as its slightly older or more as it's infinitely rarer than the. 35th and has all the options? it's certainly more collectible. There was one on flea bay that looked suspiciously like a clone for £10k bit it didn't have the rare anniversary package interior and paint like mine, had no paperwork to support its authenticity, was resprayed in an incorrect colour with the wrong wheels and was an auto, I did message the owner who told me he had "spoken to the guys in America who had confirmed it was an SS" my friend offered to put an autobox in it and change the seats for me so I could keep it but that just seems wrong with such a rare car

I think as long as you kept the original parts and could turn it back to factory spec it wouldn't be so much of an issue, and could pave the way for you keeping it :)

It would be quite involved and expensive to convert it to an auto without butchering it though and I'm.in the middle of some very expensive building work so money is gonna be tight for a few years, and the six speed is one of the things that make it what it is along with the white sports leathers, maybe I'll find someone who wants a swap or px with another camaro, ideally I would.wrap.it up and keep hold of it for 20 years but the timing is all wrong at the moment

Ah that's a bugger. But I would prefer a car in could drive to one that crippled me every time I did!

If you have a bucket list of cars you have dreamt of owning, perhaps now is the time to cross another off the list!

Most of the cars I want would be manual boxes which is half of the problem, Rs6 is nice but the price of brakes alone is terrifying, amg but once again servicing costs are a small fortune.....
